2) Mrs Lim went to the market with a sum of money. She spent 1/2 of her money and $12 on prawns. She then spent 1/3 of the remaining money and $13 on chickens.
Finally, she spent 1/4 of the money she had left and $14 on eggs.
In the end, she had $7.
A) how much did Mrs Lim have left after spending her money on chickens?
B) how much did she have at first?
Thank you -
1) Tim,Dan and Henry were given some marbles.
Tim received 1/6 of the marbles.
Dan 's share of the marbles was 6/11 of Henry.
Tim and Dan received 94 marbles altogether.
a) How many marbles were given to Henry?
b) How many marbles did the three of them receive?
Can someone help to solve the above using units/ratio method?
Thanks in advance n in a milion. -
Hi appreciate your assistance on the following question.
A box of beads was sold out in 4 days. 1/5 of the beads were sold on the second day. 3/10 of the cards were sold on the third day. The number of beads sold on the fourth day was 14 more than that sold on the second day. The ratio of the beads sold on the first day to the total number of beads sold on the next 3 days was 1:7.
a) What was the total number of beads in the box?
b) how many more beads were sold on day 4 than on day 1?

Anyone to help me in the questions?
1/3 of the amount of money Oliver has is the same as 2/3 of the amount of money Kayla has.
a) If Oliver has $60 more than Kayla, how much money does Oliver have?
b) If Oliver has $120 more than Kayla, how much money does Oliver have than Kayla?
Kamal bought 143 red markers and black markers. After he gave the same number of red markers and black markers, he was left with 3/7 of the red markers and 1/3 of the black markers. How many black markers did he have left?

Using equal fraction/equalizing numerator method:Anyone to help me in the questions?
1/3 of the amount of money Oliver has is the same as 2/3 of the amount of money Kayla has.
a) If Oliver has $60 more than Kayla, how much money does Oliver have?
b) If Oliver has $120 more than Kayla, how much money does Oliver have than Kayla?
Thanks in advance!
1/3 of Oliver's money = 2/3 of Kayla's money
2/6 of Oliver's money = 2/3 of Kayla's money
Oliver's money --> 6 units
Kayla's money --> 3 units
a) If Oliver has $60 more than Kayla,
6 units - 3 units = 3 units --> $60
1 unit --> $20
Oliver's money --> 6 x $20 = $120
b) If Oliver has $120 more than Kayla,
6 units - 3 units = 3 units --> $120
1 unit --> $40
Oliver's money --> 6 x $40 = $ 240

same number of red and black markers were given away, soAnyone to help me in the questions?
Kamal bought 143 red markers and black markers. After he gave away the same number of red markers and black markers, he was left with 3/7 of the red markers and 1/3 of the black markers. How many black markers did he have left?
Thanks in advance!
4/7 of red markers = 2/3 of black markers
4/7 of red markers = 4/6 of black markers
red markers --> 7 units
black markers --> 6 units
Total number of markers --> 13 units
13 units --> 143
1 unit = 11
Number of black markers --> 66
Number of black markers left --> 1/3 x 66 = 22

Draw a model with 10 equal parts.
1/5 of the beads were sold on the second day=2 parts
3/10 of the cards (I think you meant beads) were sold on the third day=3 parts
ratio of the beads sold on the first day to the total number of beads sold on the next 3 days was 1:7=total beads should be divided into 8 (1+7) parts. Thus we need to share out the original 10 parts into 8 parts=10/8=1 1/4. This means that for each of the original part, you need to further divide into 4 smaller parts. Thus day 1=1original part+1small part (sorry I don’t know how to draw out on the computer, hope you understand)
number of beads sold on the fourth day was 14 more than that sold on the second day=remaining parts=3 original parts+3small parts
Thus 1 original part+3small parts=7small parts=14 beads. 1 small part=2 beads.
a) Total number of beads in the box=2x4x10=80 beads
b) No. of beads sold on day 4=16+14=30 beads
No. of beads sold on day 1=4+2=6
24 more beads were sold on day 4 than day 1
Think I’m correct, hope you understand -

:nailbite:
Day 2 --> 1/5 of beads = 8/40 of beads
Day 3 --> 3/10 of beads =12/40 of beads
Day 4 --> 8/40 of beads + 14 beads
Day 2+Day3+Day 4 --> 28/40 of beads + 14 beads
Day 1 --> 1/8 of beads = 5/40 of beads
Day 1 + Day 2+Day3+Day 4
= 28/40 of beads + 14 beads + 5/40 of beads
= 33/40 of beads + 14 beads
7/40 of beads --> 14 beads
1/40 of beads --> 2 beads
a) Total number of beads --> 40 x 2 = 80 beads
b) Day 4 --> 8 x 2 + 14 = 30 beads
Day 1 --> 5 x 2 = 10 beads
30 beads - 10 beads = 20 beads --> 20 more bead were sold on Day 4 than on Day 1.

Dan : Henry = 6 : 11 --> Dan : Henry : Dan + Henry = 6 : 11 : 17
Dan+Henry : Tim : Dan : Henry --> 85u : 17u : 30u : 55u
Tim + Dan --> 47u --- 94 marbles
1u --> 2 marbles

b) total --> 110 marbles + 94 marble = 204 marbles
