Shichida Right Brain Training - Discussion

laughingcat,
I would like to give my kids fair chance of attending the class…thus sending my DS too… im wondering any other similar program in the market that works like SM…haizz… -
Yap, after 4 years which ds have attended, I enrolled dd, the sch is still using the same poem, same video and same materials for the teaching, even the songs are the same. Nothing has been changed. So, I decided to do it at home with all the materials and worksheets that I have previously. Both enjoyed doing it together at home. A great bonding between them.

I gave some comments on Flashcards at another link on KSP. Here’s what I wrote, now edited to suit this topic discussion.
I am very pro on flashcards. I do know some parents are not but I AM.
DD2 was 16 months when she attended Shichida and she stopped just before 5 YO.
Over the years, I made more than 2000 flashcards. I spent 4-5 hrs every Friday nite for years to make those cards. We flashed twice daily morning/before bedtime, each time 200-300 cards.
No point spending 80 bucks per lesson/week if you dont make the extra effort with your kids at home to do similiar actitives on daily basis.
Today…she is very focused on whatever she is doing and has mega memory. Because it was easy for her to remember what her teachers had taught her, she knows Hanyu Pinyin and can read around 5yrs old. She also enjoys school very much and teachers have commented on her progress positively.
In short, parents need to understand/appreciates and believe in Shichida’s program. -

Same same here! :hi5: :please: i am very pro at flashcards too. Even sacrificed every night (burning midnight oil) just to make flashcards! Haha those were the days. English, chinese, maths, music, knowledge cards etc. We used to flash 10 cards per theme and we have at least 15 themes. Those were fun days. :please:I gave some comments on Flashcards at another link on KSP. Here's what I wrote, now edited to suit this topic discussion.

Yeah agreed, there are positive results. Both my DS have great picture memory. We so love the linking memory activities. The mandala was so fun too. If i were to re-lived it despite burning midnight oil, i would gladly do so! It was soooooooooo fun! :please:
I cried when i have to sell away the flashcards :faint: Seller felt bad about me letting go and DH thinks i am siao and emotional :siao: -

I dont think people understand the hardwork that went into doing those cards. -

I think that it's good that you have gone through so much efforts to help your children

Hi, would like to ask if any of your children have been selected for Meet the Genius session or if any of you have attended such a session before? My son has been selected to present at a "Meet the Genius" session. We have not decided what he should present yet. Wondering what the session is like, e.g. is it usually well attended, is it just the child’s presentation or is there Q&A session, etc? Thanks.
