Yes, I think I will let dd handles her own affairs. Afterall, if we continue the hand-holding, when are we going to put a stop. It is time she learns to become independent.

Woohoo, it's great to hear kSPs say so.

Yes, WE know!!! You are the famous (or infamous?) 'hairy' boy from 'How To Grow Taller' thread.. And you are from CHS, right?

-_- famous? Not really. After all I only wander around a few threads frequently. And I'm not hairy. Who said I was hairy?
I want to check - have anyone of you signed your kids up for tuition yet? Which centers are good for IP English? Do you think they need it and have time to attend?

Do they have time for tuition?

Is it going to be totally different from primary school days? I mean they spend all their time practising on assessment books, exam papers and all those tuition just couple of months ago. Do all these just \"vanish\"? I am elated if it does but seem a big change.
Well, I've not really bought much Assessment books, I'd think. I have a JC2 & Sec3 & Sec 1 . They spend so many hours in school plus CCA. If they have tuition, it'd be late afternoon or mostly evenings. Very tiring.

Haha...dun know if that is the trend nowadays - scare tactic!

When we went to DD's school yesterday, we were also shown a list of dates of all the tests in semester 1.
However, this mother refuses to let the dates register just yet.
There'll be time to study and maybe even panic, later.

DD needs to enjoy the first few weeks of school first...we're just gonna take it slow...adjust to sec sch life, make new friends (both DD and Mother)... πŸ˜‰
                      Hi MummySTay,

You're right that could be a scare tactic.

Anyway, the lesson is officially started tomorrow and DD has to bring along Sec One and Sec Two Text Books/Work Books together!

Have also told her to learn to manage herself as mummy can't help much in Secondary and also mummy has her own task to handle!

                      Haha, εΏƒζœ‰δ½™θ€ŒεŠ›δΈθΆ³οΌŒmummy also θ‡ͺ身难保!!!

For most schools the first term tests marks are not counted right ?

At ACSI the principal showed clearly in a slide during his talk to parents that first term tests are not counted.
For DD school, Continual Assessment is weighting at 10% in Semester One and 15% in Semester 2!
