Hi anybody been to Straits Cafe @ Rendezvous? Can u feedback to me the food there, thanks in advance.

Was there last week..
We are okay with the food and selection but find the place really cramped..
Location is great but hardly comfy as it is rather difficult to move about..

Is their durian pengat still up to std ?

i had tried the \"normal one\" buffet b4, w/o the 1 for 1 promotion....
Ever read fr other food bloggers that the quality/spread of food for 1 for 1 is not as good as the one without promo....
wonder what/where is the difference ??

I was there sunday dinner buffet.
noodles: laksa, chicken noodle soup
teppanyaki stuff
chicken rice
chinese food like, pork trotters, beef stew, veg etc
pasta
soup: liu wei tang (i think), manhattan clam chowder
cold seafood stuff: prawns, scallop, clams, crab legs
naan and the curries
salads, rojak
dessert: durian penget, muah chee, waffle, ice cream, various cakes, chocolate fondue

just some that i remember (and ate )
it's the first time i having it, so i can't comment.
the ambience is good though. i was looking for a place for a big group of adults to chat and where the kids can have some space. that was good for us coz there was a small playground just outside and it was shaded (ok no link for evening dinner...)

According to the staff there, the food spread for wkend is diff fr wkdays,
wkdays, no seafood as i was told…

From yr feedback, the food is more or less the same as what i had tried w/o the promo, but i went on wkday…

Pan Pacific Hotel - The Edge (Level 3) buffet is quite good~


The lunch is $58++ on weekdays… Serves a very very wide range of international cuisine… Ambience is good too… Highly recommended if you are a carnivore… LOL
