I just called Springdale Primary school asking if they offer Higher Chinese for primary 1… the latter said no.

I replied them that Compassvale primary does offer to primary 1 students after the end of semester one through the teacher’s recommendation.
I think we should propose to the school’s management committee to implement higher chinese too so as to bring the school’s standard to a higher level …
      don’t you think so?

I think the school is too new to look into higher chinese. They should be busy arranging and get the system working better for new batch students next year. There will be 2x (P1 & P2) no. of students that the school is going to handle next year.
I'm not so sure that having higher chinese now will make school into a higher standard. It's good to have for sure. But, i would hope they can improve all the basics first.
          Just my 2cents.

Is a very good suggestion that Springdale being a brand new school -
So many parents are keen & eager to kickstart, roll out higher Chinese (hcl) from p1.
All 2014 p1 parents are pioneers. Your children will go down in history. The best time to brainstorm is now, when you are all full of zest, enthusiasm & vitality!

Many of those who failed in nan Chiau primary balloting - may have enrolled your kids in here. Furthermore, quite a number are china kids, some have converted into sg citizenship.

You may all speak to your Chinese hod. To take off hcl is not difficult. Moe can send down a master Chinese curriculum specialist from hq called \"Shi fu Chinese master\", discuss with Springdale Chinese hod, handhold her, guide her, how to turn Springdale into a school that offer hcl, from p1. All p1 hcl curriculum designed is ready, at moe hq. no need to re-invent the wheel, redesign the hcl worksheets. only need someone experienced, who know how to implement hcl, from p1.

Those china kids who had already enrolled into Springdale - no issue, with hcl. Back in china, at n2/k1 kindergarten, their Chinese already well grounded. When come over sg k2 to catch up & get ready for p1, it is English that they are more concerned with. Thus, Springdale 2014 p1 parents, be positive, be bold, be courageous, dare to suggest changes to benefit futurr generation to come. You belong to the generation where with foresight, you can make things work, turn the situation around. That is why, moe, make all our sg kids into ... Creative, critical thinking skills now. Springdale can become the next future nan Chiau!

Hi All, we have enrolled our child in Springdale Primary School for 2014 intake. Same as most parents concern about inhouse student care service, can I check, does morning star provides school bus to pick the child? What other SCC can we explore? Thanks in advance.

As of this year, there is a school bus taking 11 of the students to the morningstar. My daughter is one of them. I feel that the school bus fee actually on the high side.
For what I know, the in school student care service has limited vacancy and I remembered they're closed by 6p.m. everyday. The nearest SCCs are mostly full including morningstar. Good luck in SCC search.

Thanks fongfamily, I have called Morningstar this morning and its pretty full. I am vexed if unable to get a student care.. What other centres can I try, any kind advice? Thanks in advance.

then select the 4th icon on the top left corner (Theme), choose \"Family\", then \"Student Care Services\".
the map should appears all the SCC.
Zoom in and out of the map to have a different view.

For what I know, Polaris Junior and Morningstars are commonly very full and the waiting list if very long. I'm not too sure about the rest. I believe, you have to act very fast. Alternatively, you may have to consider hire a domestic helper.
                    Good luck!
