I emailed the principal last evening to consider admitting all 48 (without reducing the 46 set aside for Phase 2C) on the basis that the 48 included twins, and so as not to disappoint the one unsuccessful applicant. I also shared the hard work put in by her team in updating the breakdown by distance.

Mrs Koh rang me this morning and she shared MOE’s strict policy of limiting places to 270. I then shared that in this unique situation where you have 48 applicants with 1 set of twins holding 1 ballot slip, the twins are guaranteed a place whether they are drawn earlier or last (at the 47th draw).
That would not be a level playing field.

I told her that there are more pros than cons in admitting all 48. Both Phase 2B 1km applicants and Phase 2C applicants would be happy - Phase 2C because of 1 less applicant. She then said that she would check with MOE and share my views.

Having spoken with her, I find her very friendly and personable. Wonderful principal to sort things out so promptly with MOE. The school is fortunate to have her and her team.

I was ecstatic to get a call from the school half an hour ago to confirm that all 48 would be admitted.

For those who were not at the school yesterday, we must also remember and thank the parent who lives within 1 km but who pulled out. Had she gone ahead, there would be 49 applicants and there would be balloting.

My congratulations to the successful applicants. To the unsuccessful applicants, I hope your sons get in under Phase 2C.

Acsp has 26 vying for 24 places. Any chance there are 2 pairs of twins there? If only... Haha

I was still hoping its like last yr trend then at least have 100 seats available for 2c....I'm out of 2km. Sob sob. Worrying.

Same here. No school within 1km for my dd, only boy schools. Only SCGS n SMPS within 1-2km for my dd. SCGS is definitely out for my girl.

No need to ballot for applicant 1-2km under phase 2c, I hope.

Do u happen to know what's the breakdown for last yr 2c
In terms of 1km, 1-2km and more than 2km who balloted.
I want to know how many vacancies left for those more than 2km who balloted. Applicant vs seats left for balloting.[/quote]

I've no idea, I only know that 1 girl from >2km was balloted out, out of 104 vacancies in Phase 2C.
