Hi all - Can someone help with my queries?

Would like to check what kind of canteen food is sold? and about how much per portion?
Does any parents here pack food for their kids to be eaten during the morning break?
What about lunch - also pack food? Becoz I heard that the kids will only reach home about 2 plus to 3pm…

        Thanks in advance!

        Regards
        Ashley

          Hi Ashley,

          Canteen food:
          1. Fresh handmade noodles $1.80-2.30
          2.Drinks stall $$0.70-1.20
3.Local noodles like fish ball noodle, minced pork noodle etc $1.50-2.00
          4. Chicken rice $1.50-2.00
          5. Western rice set $1.70-2.50
          6. Jap food $1.70-2.20

I do not pack food for them cos it’s too early for me and I am concerned if the food will go bad in our hot weather.
The kids have a mini snack break around noon time in the classroom.

          Hope that helps!

Hi all, my Son will be in ATS next year for P1. Can someone let us know what to expect?

In terms of cca, and the whole educational system in ATS.

            Thanks all

Hihi, I am a newbie here, need your candid opinion. My girl has gotten a place at ATS. As RGPS is within 1km from my place, we are in a big dilemma now as to whether or not to give up our place and go for RGPS at 2C which has a high chance too.

I would greatly appreciate to hear from all of you on which school you would choose and why?

Both schools will offer you both pros and cons, and hence, trade offs. But in general:

If your other child is also a daughter (i.e. no son) or this is your only child, then RGPS. Otherwise. ATS.

If RGPS goes into balloting (quite unlikely at the moment), then ATS. You will have to monitor on the last day of registration to see how things go.

                    depend on what u want.

if u prefer SAP school environment, stick to Ai Tong.

if yr girl like Artistic gym cca, stick to Ai Tong.
if yr girl prefer Rhythmic gym, then come to Rgps.
What other Ccas found in Ai Tong, absent in Rgps, or vice versa : u can google to check the difference in Cca, between these 2 schools.

Phase 2C : on the last day, monitor closely, esp. the last half hour left.

Usually, less than 1 km from Rgps : no balloting. Past few years : balloted beyond 2 km, for Rgps. (can refer school website)
Still, monitor closely the last half hour statistics, because this year being popular Rabbit year, hard to say, esp. those falling between 1 to 2 km this batch.
The P1 officer from Rgps will update the detailed figures breakdown (< 1 km, < 2 km, > 2km) on the white board placed on level 2 outside the school hall frequently, every 5 minutes or so, in that critical last half hour left. Each time when the Officer come out to refresh the white board, by updating an increase in the number of students enrolled / registered for P1, your heart skip a beat : because it means \"Oh dear ! now face more competition, within the distance range bracket, esp. those outside 2 km\"

both Rgps and Ai Tong : not affliated to any Secondary school.

Rgps : is a very competitive school, compared to Ai Tong
For parents with daughters who are average in academic study: it is better to go to primary schools, that are affliated to Secondary section, like (CHIJ schools, St Margaret, MGS, Paya Lebar MGS, SCGS, etc).

At Lower primary (Rgps) : the stress haven't seep in yet, but many girls will be targeting & eyeing class monitress role, mini-prefect role, etc.
At Upper primary (P5 and P6) inside Rgps : the stress to perform well at PSLE, is very high.

I suspect the high stress to do well in PSLE is because RGPS is not affiliated to a secondary school.
