Which level is your gal in?

This happens in my gal’s class.
There is a school event with fund raising for various school building activities. All students were given a donation card. At the same time, the Principal sent out a circular regarding the fund raising and "pupils are strongly advised not to solicit money from the public" - i quote.
When the form teacher collects the donation pledge cards from the pupils, 2 girls managed only to get a mere $10 donation. Do you know what the form teacher said to the 2 girls???
It was "Shame on you!!!"
I was shocked when i learned this from my girl. I had a hard time explaining the ‘reason’ why the teacher said that.
I was thinking to myself, why did the teacher say this to a P3 girl?
Did she mean ‘shame on you’ because
1. the girls did not put in effort to ask for donation;
2. of the $10 donation the girls manage to get ;
3. the girls have not so rich relatives/friends as they were told not to solicit money from the public ?
4. the Teacher really mean that " SHAME on YOU"???
what is happening in our classrooms??? -
Teacher who made this type of comment "Shame on you" ought to be sacked. They are strong words used on young kids. Report her to the Principal and to MOE !
some kids may come from poor background. How can she make this type of comment ? means she look down on poor kids who can’t raise funds. some teachers are atas. what kind of educator is she ? -

This sounds bad! I would write to the teacher and request her to explain her side of the matter. And if I didn't get a plausible explanation, I would contact the principal....Do you know what the form teacher said to the 2 girls???
It was \"Shame on you!!!\"

That is definitely setting a very bad example by saying this type of word. I think this donation card thing is \"getting a bit out of hand\" though it is over.dear all,

That teacher ought to be penalized and the upper management i.e VP shld tell their teachers how to handle this donation matter properly (all donations shld come out of a willing heart and not being compelled!).
If students \"are supposed\" to donate a certain amount, then pls dun give us a card with different amounts that we can choose to donate. Might as well write a circular to state \"the compulsory amt!\".
What about all the staff in the school? Are they supposed to do the same as their students i.e contribute their effort in the fund raising (Mount Kellock event today) and DONATE money oso? :mad: -
Can anyone tell me this school how the degree of donation? Every year have donation?It seem like they need to get funds for the next phase of expansion?
Do updates us the teacher that use the word \"shame on you\". Will reporting the teacher in the end the gal would be mark by the teacher?
