If got PE lesson, is it whole day wear t-shirt and shorts? Or must bring pinafore to change? Pardon my ignorance coz my gal just pri 1 and I am confuse by the picture shown on the MBS journal which show a pic with t-shirt top and a half skirt for PE attire. I only buy pinafore (with sew-on sleeve and collar), no separate skirt…
-
They only need the half-skirt when they are in upper primary.

Hi,
can i check wat happens to recess for p1 after 1st 3 days? do they have a buddy system or they have to buy food themselves? also as mention above, is it they have to bring pe attire to change? TIA! -
Some informations to share....
Yes...P1 kids need to wear PE attire e moment they report to school when they are having PE on that day. As pinafore is more for upper primary like P3 or P4 onward....
During e 3rd day of reccess...MBS PSG will assist 1 PV to each P1 class to help out e kids & their individual class FT will be there to have a look out. Ohh plus...there will also 2 or 3 PVs station at each food stores to help out the P1 kids to buy foods as well help them to deal with payment. Whh means U need to give P1 kids pocket money on the 3rd day onwards...
I hope all e informations help....

In addition to what blurblursahm mentioned, it is good to ensure that you give your child small change. Also teach them how to count the coins. We are trying to practise that with our P1 through games too.... I think the challenge is 4th day onwards when they have to buy their own food. I am going to pv on 4th day and another day next week during recess.
I've also asked my older kids to stay back after school just to watch her. -
:thankyou: for replying my enquries..really appreciate the info. & tips given..
Well, after my visit to MBS (during orientation & first day) and \"interview\" with my gal, i have gathered several concerns about MBS. Really hope that fellow parents can share some insights and thoughts or even advice or tips on the concerns i addressed below...Thks in advance...
Noise level -
while I was at the school compound, there were noise made by planes flying pass. Short and frequent intervals. Noise created was really loud! I don't think it is conducive environment for study, especially younger kids tend to be distracted easily.
School bus -
my gal told me she was asked not to put on seat belt by the driver and auntie. according to her, they said, \"very fast reach home, no need to put on\" so my gal obediently listen (dare not reason out too). My point is we have already being charged for the higher fees when it was made compulsory for them to install seat belt, but if they don't let the kids to wear them, what for? safety issue here.
I learned from another auntie who's grandson taking school bus that payment of bus fees is to put in a card (something like that) & pass to the auntie...i was like \"huh\" no receipt or acknowledgement and they only accept CASH...what if pay already but they claim never receive? can pay by giro or not...
Communication with teachers -
besides journal & the common tel no. shared by Principal/VP/Admin Staff, etc , how else to communicate with the teachers? During the orientation, i remembered Principal saying can call HP no. or email to teacher, but i was not given these info (which i tot would have been attached in the Journal?)
Holistic Approach of assessment for Pri 1 & 2 -
What is this about? Anyone can share? -

What is this about? Anyone can share?[/quote]Your dd's form teacher will give out more information on how to communicate with her later this week or next. Please allow some settling down time. Not all teachers give their Hp numbers. The most common form of communication is via email.
You can have a look at this website (about holistic assessment) before the 'Morning with Teachers' session (14 Jan 2012). It is important for you to attend the session so as it will help you to understand the MBS curriculum. It can be different from other primary schools as each schools do their assessment differently.

Admummy:
For school bus, I feel that the bus attendant is not strict in enforcing the seat belt rule. I share your concern about the safety issue as my DS1 was injured by another boy in the school bus and we had to send DS1 to the hospital for stitching up the wound. All these happened because the children were not using the seat belt. Perhaps we could raise this issue to the school principal who may help to follow up w the bus company.:thankyou: for replying my enquries..really appreciate the info. & tips given..

For payment of bus fare, the bus attendant or uncle will issue a card in a plastic holder. We will put the bus fare in the holder and return to them. The next mth u get back the card, u shd see that the previous mth has been signed off to signify that you have paid. -
Hi

Oh dear! Is the wound big? Please bring this up. Maybe can approach the level manager. If not brought up, the school will never be able to help.
