Mavis Tutorial Centre - Discussion

Thinking of sending my kid to either learning habitat or Mavis at Buangkok. Does anyone got any feedback for these 2 learning centre?

Different tutors at different branch. Kovan & Rivervale Plaza have good tutors. But not sure of the new branch.

I have intention to sign up my gal at Mavis Buangkok too! Not sure about the teacher standard there. But heard that Science teacher has taught in both Kovan and Rivervale plaza before and was transferred to the new branch. I guess wouldn’t be that bad. Unless you can consider Kovan HQ side, they have lots of experienced and good teachers. But be prepared that the classe szie gonna be very huge esp weekends classess.

Class size is smaller than their usual classes. No fix syllabus to follow, depend on the majority. Not specialise in IP syllabus.

Kovan is the head office. Many good tutors there but class size is big.

Both classes are good. I think Mind Stretcher notes are better.

No doubt Mavis has good tutors but just to share a friend's son's experience at Mavis Rivervale. This happened about 2 years ago. The Math tutor insisted that the boy must use the method taught by them to do their worksheets. If the boy used other method to solve, he claimed the teacher will be unhappy. The Science tutor was not helpful at all and the boy got demotivated instead of being motivated. I will not say what are the unkind words that was said to the boy by the tutor in the class in front of all students. It is better to get recommendation from friends' about Mavis. If your child is with Mavis Rivervale, please do not be alarmed that all tutors there are not good. It really depends on luck to get good teachers in Mavis or any other learning centres.
