      Hi,

My girl is in P1 Gratitude. As I do not have the timetable yet, can any parent advise me the books/materials they need to bring next Monday?
Should they wear pinafore or PE attire?

      Thanks.

Hi, I think you can bring the following to give to teacher to keep in school - the English Handwriting book, English Thematic worksheets, the whiteboard/marker in a package transparent file is meant for Chinese. All should be clearly labelled. The rest of the required items you can refer to the handout in Orientation file if you have not handed them in.

Hi chosun and freellie, yes, good to know parents from the same class. I think different class gives out different pieces of form at slightly different timing. Semgal, if what the admin staff told u is true, i think my gal can wear pe attire everyday! Her only day without pe/he is the day with modular curriculum. And does mean that all the parents have to go to the bookstore to get those books now?

          Mutree,

Same here... So everyday PE attire?

BTW, has everyone decided on the CCA? My gal wants gymnastics cos she saw the performance on orientation and wants to be like them, hahaha! But it's 2 days/week though, hmm..

            Sembgal,

your DD is to bring the English Handwriting book, English Thematic worksheets? I asked my DD and she said her teacher didn't mention that, so I suppose different classes have different announcements?

BTW, the elective CCA, there's no school bus arrangement I guess? We'll need to bring our DD to school ourselves?

Hi lil_jade, I agree with you that different class teachers will give different announcements at different time. The handwriting book and the whiteboard/marker was verbally told to the class on first day of school and my dd came back to inform what the teacher expected them to bring on second day of school. The Thematic English worksheets which are to be brought to class on the second day of school, was recorded in the pupil’s helpmate by my dd. So good to know of other parents here who are active in this thread too.

As for morning CCA, you will have to make your own transport arrangement to bring your P1 girl to school. There is no morning CCA bus, unlike the afternoon CCA bus which will send the girls home after they have finished their CCAs in afternoon.

I trust that MCS believed in developing each child holistically, as well as to celebrate diverse talents and skill sets, which is the reason why P1 pupils get the opportunity to participate in CCA starting Pri 1.

              List of CCAs for P1.
              Artistic Gymnastics
              Rhythmic Gymnastics
              Tennis
              Netball
              Dance Club
              Art Club
              Drama Club

My DD is in P3 Humility. She received a letter of offer for netball. She was in Modern dance for past 2 years. So unsure if she has to take up netball since its specialized CCA ?

                  Can anyone advise pls... :?

Wow! Your dd is in the Higher Ability class right? Heard this year 3 Compassion and 3 Humility are HA classes.

Specialised CCAs will be offered to identified pupils. These pupils are strongly encouraged to join the respective CCAs if they are identified in order to develop their talents and potential further.

The school has identified your dd for netball. :congrats:
