Hi. I am an RGS girl in Year 2 and is preparing for the Math RA Selection test. May I know how and what to study for the Selection test? What topics or types of questions will they usually test??? (e.g. geometry, general algebraic questions?) So, how can I prepare or study for the test???
Thank you very much! -
Can I make an appeal for Math RA selection test?

The rest I cannot help, but best of luck to you. Just remember to enjoy your time at RGS - it should be an unforgettable part of your life's journey. -
Can any one advice on what kind of questions are asked in the advanced maths selection test? Are the questions like those asked in maths olympiad?

Hi. I have a friend who appealed to join the math RA Selection test, because she did not apply for it and was not invited. However, she was not notified yet whether she can sit for the test.
I think the questions will be non-routine and may require a good foundation of algebra or formulas to solve. -
Ok. Thanks for the info

Good luck to all those taking RA Selection tests tomorrow! I am taking Math RA and Biology RA... Any final tips to prepare ourselves?

I have some questions about the Raffles Academies. I understand that the tests are conducted about now for the Yr 2 students. Roughly how many students are there in the various subject RAs? Is there another intake at the end of Yr 3? Do they continue into Yrs 5 & 6 or is there another selection? If a student doesn’t do RA in Yrs 3 & 4, what is the likelihood of getting into RA at Yrs 5 & 6? What if a students wants to switch to another subject RA somewhere along the way? Thanks!

Between 15-25 students in each RA. Only for Year 3/4. Another selection process for Year 5/6. Having or not having done RA in Year 3/4 will have no consequence on your application for RA for Year 5/6. You can't switch RA subjects in the middle of Year 3/4, but can certainly choose to do apply for a different RA in Year 5/6 from Year 3/4. -
what is Advanced Maths selection test?
