Hi Titank!
Can you please PM me the details? Thanks. -
Just wondering, will kids become ‘violent’ or like to ‘spar’ with other kids?
I want to let my boy try, but my hb is hesistant. He says that we are exposing him to violence (which we try our very best to avoid - esp TV shows & cartoons).
Anyone can give me something good to convince my hb? -

Learning TKD is good which can helps in thier motor skills & also as a self defence. I'm intending to let my DD & DS to try TKD but also have to see whether they like this activity a not. -

he also cannot go to the wet market...see the fishmonger chop the fish, scarly grow up learn how to chop ppl...
and he better don't go downstairs...see cats fighting, or birds killing worms, all these are violence LOL
the benefits of learning martial arts are numerous.
1) strong and fit body
2) strong and tough mind...u will learn perseverance....never give up...because giving up halfway during a fight could result in serious injury...u learn to push yourself all the way....either win or die
3) people who learn martial arts are, on the contrary, unlikely to be violent nor engage in fights, because they know that in any fight, anyone has a good chance of being the loser, and getting seriously injured....so they learn not to use violence easily.
4) Violence is sometimes necessary in our horrible world....u would want your child to be able to defend himself if and when necessary....and when that happens, you would want him to be the winner, right? -

Eh, in SG wet markets, they are no longer allowed to kill live animals in front of the public. There's a special 'killing room' to do that.oh dear, then he cannot watch news, read newspapers...all the killing and bombing in the world...

My hb did not grow up in a good environment, so it's understandable that he's very protective of our boy.
Plus, my nephews are always fighting after they were exposed to Ultraman.
Actually I want my boy to learn because they are trained to be disciplined. And afterall, he'll need to go NS, it's good to start some form of physical training from young.
Will rope in my brother to help convince my hbThanks for your help!

mrswongtuition:
that's not \"fighting\", that's \"playing\".

there's more harm than good in being over-protective...well, at least u already know this -
skunk:
Hm...theirs would be considered fighting more than playing as they are really out to get each other until 1 person is injured or cries to surrender.that's not \"fighting\", that's \"playing\".

mrswongtuition:
normal....this is Nature's way of sorting out interpersonal relationships and establishing hierachy.

For children, they play-fight. For adults, we fight each other with words in the office or back-stab each other in the boardroom.
What's new? LOL -
I notice TKD have TKD Academy, Federation.Which is good or recognise?
