Tingkat Dinner
-
We were looking to \"outsource\" our dinner for this year, as both kids are having PSLE and O levels.
I found a few older post through Kiasu parents forum that recommended tingkat services in Singapore. I have tried out one of the recommended ones :?: and would like to share with others my recommendations/experience :lovesite: .
http://www.momscooking.com.sg
Mom's cooking is a little ex compared to others, but the quality of food is much better. The tasty is also very much better than the normal. The food comes in paper container, which is environmental friendlier and less toxic  compared to straroform boxes. Other tingkat services requires you to wash and clean the tingkat as well.
Average about $29 per meal for four people, sounds a bit high but if you add up the time you saved on cooking, preparation, grocery shopping, gas, cleaning, its quite a good deal.
I would recommend Mom cooking and order one less pax, as the serving is quite big. We ordered 3pax for 2 adults and 2 kids.
PM me if you need other information. -
Any feedback for MeiHao?

Hey ask you guys ah, do you mind if tingkats are not labeled with the food ready-to-eat-time? NEA require all packed meals and buffet to label with the time the food is cooked, and advice consumers to eat the food in 4 hours.

I do not really mind but it's good to have! -

ACtually i rather not have the label cos most times by the time we get to eat, it has 'expired'.
Just finished CWST last week...on Kim's Kitchen this week. Was with Empire/LeXin previously for a year. We order for 2 pax but feed 2A1C
Comments on :
Empire : Other than days where its stuff like drum sticks, portion is quite ok. Taste wise quite ok too. Love the soup. Not cheapo stuff like fishball soup. No MSG. Usually I will finish up the soup and I'm not a soup person. But DH complain abt repetition and being sianz after 1 year...
CWST trial : Portion very small. Had to add on another dish of our own. But taste wise ok. Soup mainly cheapo type...
Kim's Kitchen : Portion ok...Dishes quite yummy. Soup can really taste MSG in it. I can only take a few spoonfuls before giving up.
Going to try Hilltop next week. Think I really ought to do my own cooking but the preparation time involved is what I don't really have. -
Anyone tried the following? Any feedback re taste, portion etc?
1) Four season's cafe

Eone catering is really good. No MSG. The Boss Mr Alick will ask for your feedback every now and then. 6 weeks No repeat Menu. I had their food since April this year. Call 8168 8598 to enquire.

Yes, I second that but they do not have delivery in all areas yet. One good thing about Eone is that they provide brown rice if you request, although a bit costly but still a healthier option.
We've tried Empire and stayed on for a year till we were sick of the food, subsequently tried Hilltop and one other but their cooking didn't suit our taste. So glad we found Eone, so far so good. -
My mum had bad experience with Kelvin from Mom's Cooking. I read that he is the boss.
She ordered for Tingkat from this Kelvin, he said payment can be by Cheque or Internet Banking. Then my mum asked for the bank details, he MIA-ed. As it was close to the Tingkat start date already, my mum enquired what happen, is the order confirm or not and what is the bank account details. Below is his reply.
\" Firstly, we are mom’s cooking pte ltd Not Mom’s Kitchen. Secondly I did not receive your email. Lastly, you are free to share whatever experience you had.
Thanks U
Kelvin\"
Such company should be boycotted and close down, let the good and sincere ones survive!
