To begin with, never have balloting for those applies under 2B for scgs. It has never been a problem for phrase 2B! All got in all this while. I'd say the new ruling has no impact at all for those applies under phrase 2B! :imcool:

      Beansprout:
Believe the new ruling does not help much for parents who apply under Phase2B because SCGS has minimal PVs and GRLs are mainly Singaporeans. Correct?

Base on historical data there is an incremental trend for Phase2B applicants hence I am worried that this year scgs will hit record to have balloting for phase 2b. And that's why I was saying that the new ruling doesn't help much.

You can find SCGS P1 Registration data at this link.

          http://www.scgs.edu.sg/content/view/25/156/

          in Phase 2C -
those who failed in balloting can let their daughters attempt P1 entrance admission tests. However, parents will try to avoid 2C balloting, as much as possible, if they can. Feedback from past parents whose daughters had sat for the entrance tests was ... high standard.

Thus, parents will try their very best come in at 2B - one phase earlier, eliminate substantial fierce intense competition.
If they can't enter via SCGS Parent Volunteer limited seats, only route left is enter via Grassroot activities. Thus you noted a high jump in 2B applicants, from 2011 to 2012.

Jan 2013 - SCGS takes off her maiden flight, absorb new Secondary 1 cohort into her \"Integrated Programme\" course. Thus forsee greater demand this year onwards, in phase 2B and 2C.

                Hi Bagcononics,

Yes, you stand a better chance at SJI junior. Pls refer to this link with regards to SJI junior. It mentioned that historically for the last 5 years, there is no balloting for 1-2km in phase 2B (not the same for phase 2C yeah). Also are you aware that SJI junior is temporarily shifting to geyland bahru?

                http://www.sjijunior.edu.sg/cms/uploads/Latest%20Announcement/2011_P1_Registration_FAQ.pdf

As for the history of SJI and ACS primary, you can refer to this link.

                http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/novena

However, if you really like ACS......like what other forumer explained that you can try.....but you need to closely monitor on the # of applicants submitted vs the vacancy. Should the risk is high nearer to the date of the result, then you can still draw out the application form from ACS and then jump to SJI. Hope my explanation is clear to you.

Tks laughingcat, that has been very helpful, appreciate it šŸ™‚

Oh dear, I m confused on which phrase I should register.....what is the difference between 2b and 2c

:scared: Mummy Bagcononics, how can you confuse? šŸ˜† You very funny.

Anyway.....phase 2B - For a child whose parent has joined as PV, member endorsed by the church/clan directly connected with the primary school or endorsed as an active community leader

Phase 2C - Any others who have not fallen under the previous phases.

QMS- Not asking for help, mainly trying to get feedback if any balloting risk for phase 2B that's all.

correct me if I am wrong, but I thought entry into the IP prog only considers COP, and it does not take into account affiliation, so there is no advantage for scgs girls wanting to enter the IP programme? That is my understanding anyway.
