      Monster Mummy:

I agreed that RG complement some of the ballet stretching and dance especially with the new ballet syllabus in RAD. I did see it help my child in her dance.
Yes, I believed both RAD and CSTD ballet do complement RG. My girl could do the stretches during her ballet lessons effortlessly as she shared that some stretching exercises were identical. I have not seen how her RG lessons are conducted in school but I have seen how the ballet teacher conduct her lessons.

Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that combines elements of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation.

A child with ballet background will find that learning RG complements some of the ballet stretching exercise and dance move. It is an added advantage to learn both ballet and RG at the same time.
How abt jazz and RG? Do they complement each other? My dd says she does leaps and pirouette in jazz - more like the faster tempo of ballet.

Bt Timah.........ok I know of this coach who charges very reasonable rate and teaches near Coronation in one of the evenings. I will check with her if she can take you in for that evening class as that class are for more experienced gymnasts. Do you have some prior training or absolutely none? Are you in for recreation or competition cos she is coaching for competition. She will ask me these questions.

There is also Tiong Bahru CC where a reputable coach teaches on weekends. That class is more for recreation.

Alternatively you can go for private coaching by a former National Champion and judge. She teaches at Sengkang but may consider travelling to your place and do 1 to 1. Very patient and focused in her training. She also uses this VibroStretch Technique which is especially effective for late beginner as one will be able to do the split after 1 to 2 sessions on the Vibrogym machine. My daughter could touch the floor after 2 sessions when she was previously always a good 10cm away. Really frustrating for her. For the vibrogym facility you don't have to travel all the way to Sengkang. It is available at Newton.

Let me know which you are more interested in and I can let you have the contact details. For the coronation class I have to get back to you. Help me answer those questions above. Cheers.
            Hi
I've received quite a number of enquiries on the Sengkang coach and Vibrogym. Sorry for the late response cos I've not been checking in lately. Due to the overwhelming response hope you all don't mind I reply here instead of individually.

For Sengkangs coach, you can call Cherrie Kwek at 9832 7883. She teaches at Sengkang Sports and Recreation Club or at your place if she is free. But she will encourage you to visit her at the sports hall as you need the ceiling height for certain training routine. For Vibrogym sessions, you can contact Lifestyle Fitness at Sheraton Hotel's gym. Look for Alvin 98363881.

                Hi Poonie 🙂

thanks for the information. I have absolutely no training, and I don't mind going for both. But of course, I'd have to start out with recreational first right? Please give me the contact details for the private one and the coronation class. Thanks!! 😄

                  Hi 🙂

for those living in the west, there is a gymnastics school at UWCSEA Dover. Though it is an international school, it caters community programmes during the weekends. Their prices are quite reasonable too. They cater gymnastics for children aged 6-18, with all kinds of ability. The place is really big with many apparatuses. I called them before and they said if you miss a lesson, the fees that you paid will be transferred over to the next term. But the only thing is that you won't be able to participate in competitions if you are not student of UWCSEA. You can find more information via these links:
