vk2010, it appears so if they don't take up to their capacity.

Interestingly the 2 IP schools with the smallest cohort never fills up their full capacity.

Thank you for all the well wishes ! DD came out of the I terview quite disheartend, said she failed . They asked her wat s her strength and weaknesses and she said an avid reader like her is good on gk but xan be anti social at times so they told her if u want to be in ip Prog then u have to be sociable . She thought that was a bad answer to give . She was really upset abt the way she presented herself . Told her that she can always try the psle route and not get upset abt it 😞

Please tell your daughter not to be disheartened. Years ago during an interview for a scholarship I gave a similar honest from heart answer - but that could be construed as totally 'wrong' - I still got the scholarship. Sometimes interviewers are trying to see how well the interviewee can adjudge themselves. In any case - knowing your weakness is a first step in addressing them

        Good luck to her.

Thanks for the encouragement. She went on to say \"I can be sociable when I need to ,\" she s just so naive and straight forward . :stupid:

          Good luck to her.

I don’t see why NJC can’t do that. Anyway the past 2 years intake numbers - can tell that they probably want to uphold a certain standard since they didn’t take in to their capacity
Interesting. So schools can inflate their COPs by taking in fewer students than capacity.
so NUSH & NJC do that ?
Don’t think that is the case for NUSH. The school had been consistent - 10% of each year cohort are admitted based on PSLE results. Each year, they would admit the full allotment of 10% vacancies based on PSLE results. Yes, the school wants to maintain certain admission criteria but I think these criteria apply only for DSA phase. No reason for the school to inflate COP when the PSLE intake is so small. The school does not even publicise their COP - for PSLE intake, criteria has always been T-score of 250 and A* for both Maths & Science. Also, I sense that the school places more importance in their DSA screening process than PSLE results.

based on MOE website, NUSH is a SBGE school, and an independent and IP school

independent = 100% discretion on admission policy / score

SBGE = minimum 250 t-score, as in commonly believed that the top 10% cut off is 250 for those who are IP-bound

My point was why does NUSH need to inflate their COP when the preceding year's COP is almost irrelevant to the school's admission criteria? Consider this scenario - COP for NUSH last year was 264 but if there only 1 vacancy left for this year PSLE posting, someone who scores 265 but fails to get double A* for Maths and Science may lose out to someone who scores 260 but with A* in Maths and Science.

My Gal's Frens R at the Interview for NJC This Afternoon ....

They R Busy sms-ing each other since 3pm plus ....
Apparently her fren is informed to go for the interview at 3pm ....
But Gotta Wait Till 5pm for her turn ....

And Another fren of hers sms her that the interview took 45 min!
No wonder her other fren at the Later session gotta Wait so Long for the Interview ....
My girl had to wait one hour and a half for her NJC interview yesterday. She only went in for ten minutes. I wonder if it means she will not be selected since earlier candidates were interviewed a longer time.
