Tresille:

For 3A* & 1A, it is possible to score higher than 265, my ds was an example. The lowest 4A* that I've known of was 248, that was for last year.
Thanks for clarification, Tresille. yes, I also heard 248 for 4 A*.

congrats on yr DS results, hope he is enjoying Sec 1 now :imcool:

Well, guess it's more diificult to estimate than expected.

yes, we all know that a student with 3A*s (high) and 1A (high) can score higher than 265.. yes, i have no doubt about it.. in fact, he/she can also score higher than a student with 4A*s (low).

but i am puzzled to hear that a student with 4A*s (lowest being 91/100) can score as low as 244-249? :? :scratchhead:

the difference between a low A and a high A is 15 marks (75-90) but the difference between a low A* and a high A* is only 9 marks (91-100).. so it is possible for a student with 3 high As (eg. 90) and 1 high A* (eg. 95 above) to obtain a high t-score.. yes, i have no doubt about it too.

similarly surprised too. I know of one who had 3 high A/low A* and 1 low A…already 245 or thereabout. (confirmed low A coz consistently never got A for CL, mostly low B or C!!)

Yeah it's possible to get 100 for math and science, but what is the highest mark possible for English and Chinese ?
Just called NJC.

There is no wait list this year.
CO letters sent last week.
Rejection letters not sent yet.

Wah, that means they must have given out ALOT of CO??? Or maybe they feel that it'd be better for them to take in students under S1 posting. ;(

They said about 50%
Meaning no letters today is deemed rejected Liao... Why they must send letters out in batches? Not like they still have a lot of time before the stipulated dateline of 2 Sep ..... Anyway good luck to all DS/DD in the coming PSLE and let's all jia you together

She's most probably disappointed yet trying to put on a strong front by showing you she's not that bothered by it. Just tell her it's ok and encourage to work hard for PSLE. All the Best for PSLE!

I don’t understand why NJC has done away with WL. It is such a let down and disappointment for the other kids who went thru the whole dsa process. What makes NJC such an exception that they have done away with WL?

Just to check anyone offered NJC CO while already offered from RI/HCI/RGS/NYGH ? Have yet to come across.

The least they could do was to post the rejection letters together with the co since they were quite close to the deadline. Thought moe website stipulate that all applicants will be informed of the outcome by 3 sept. Quite unprofessional of them. It could had spared us the agony of still pinning for some hope over the last weekend! Really unhappy with them.
During the tour of the sch, the dean said that if the applicants for their dsa doesn't meet the requirement , they may not even fill up half of their quotas for enrollment but will keep these vacancies for the sec 1 posting exercise. Looks like they are really strict about the quality of students that they pick ! :spank:
