Hi, my DD, 12 yrs old, has recently been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism.
I have been searching for a support group whereby I am learn more on this so to better support her.

Just curious your DD is so young, what makes you bring her to test for Thyroid? What symptoms she has?

Hi, her neck was swollen. So I brought her to see GP, then was referred to see specialist. -

Doc only advised DD to avoid seaweed. Why yr fren cant eat a lot of food? Is there some special concern? Thk u.

Whenever she eats dairy or others, she will have diarrhea and hives . Is good that your dd only need to avoid seaweed. I think she needs to be gluten free and vegan

I also have Graveโs Disease.
I do not have issues with dairy products, fortunately.
My condition is somehow stabilised, can eat seafood once a week.
I still steer clear of seaweed. -

Just took the medicine daily, advised to avoid seafood (can eat fish) and seaweed.
I think diet is not the most critical factor in stabilizing the condition.
Stress level must be as low as possible.
Your friend should try not worry too much about the condition, trust the doctor's recommendations, take the medicine properly.
Once the condition stabilizes, she might be able to resume eating those foods that are to be avoided previously. -
