      3Hu1Sc, not common. 3Sc1Hu common.

      Hu = Geo, Hist, Lit[/quote]
      wish to clarify that

\"Triple humanities\" doesn't limit nor restrict (confined) to only these 3 hard-core academic subjects mentioned only (English Lit / Geog / History)

definition of \"Triple humanities\" encompass a much broader, wider range

      - Art
      - Music
      - Drama

      - 3rd foreign language (French, Spanish, Japanese, German)
      - CLEP / MLEP

      - Bi-cultural studies
      - Translation

      - Chinese Literature

      - Economics
      4 Secondary schools in Singapore offer \"O-level \" Econs (subject 2286) :
(Presbyterian High, Tanjong Katong Girls School, Westwood, Temasek) Secondary

check out their school website, if keen to take O-level Econs

      - academic, hard core (English Lit / Geog / History)

Ah yes, Lit in C, Lit in M, Lit in T (i think it exists), are also humanities subject.

However, I think, in secondary schools, 3rd lang is an Others subject.
I think, in JC, it is an Arts subject, but I am not sure.
          Anyway, what’s in a name? 😂

I think, in secondary schools, there is a no CLEP MLEP.

As for Bicultural Studies, I am quite certain this is not a subject. Like a sit down and study thing. I dont really know how to say this...but anyway, it is ok, I dont have supporting documents so for those who are really doing their sec 2 streaming, they will find out what the situation is, in their school. They can choose within what is offered and hope for the best when it comes to their L1R5 computation or their yr 4 to yr 5 promotion.

          All the best!

Refer to table 7 of JAE 2020 booklet. The answers are all there. Yes, there’s a Lit in T subject.

              wish to clarify that

              1) \"Bi-cultural Studies\" is an academic subject, offered to IP Year 3 students,

              in (IP St Nick) and
in (IP Catholic High), plus in some other IP schools

at end of Sec 2, if students are interested in \"Bi-cultural Studies\", they will be interviewed by their IP school VP (Academic) or Principal, before know outcome, if got accepted or rejected for scholarship, to start this in IP Year 3. One requirement is that, your Chinese must be strong

              2) But, \"Bi-cultural Studies\" is NOT offered to O-level students.

so, if you are an O-level student, want to pursue \"Bi-cultural Studies\" in (Sec 3 & 4), you will need to seek Transfer, over to the IP track, subjected to approval from school for IP request to Transfer over.

However, after their GCE O-level, if students are interested in \"Bi-cultural\" studies, they can take it up at A-level, just that they had already missed out \"Bi-cultural studies\" for past 2 years, in Upper (Sec 3 and 4)

more MOE information, on \"Bi-cultural Studies\"

I shall not engage. It is ok, as long as the concerned know what exactly BSP is, it is enough.

students who are offered MOE Humanities scholarship, after a successful interview by IP school / MOE staff, will be able to take Upper Sec 3 IP (Triple humanities)

                  example

there are IP SCGS Sec 3 students, taking Triple humanities (AEP Art Elective, English Literature, Geography). Usually, is more the girls taking Triple humanities. Boys normally tend to stick to \"Maths / Science\" traditional path
My younger kid will shun Science whenever she can. She hope to select 7 core ( include 1 Sc and 1 Hu), and 2 electives (both Hu), plus RSP. Shall see in 4 or 5 months time.

Hi, Regional Studies Program? I'd sat in an RSP talk before, it seems very interesting with a demanding language component!! If my child was not in 3rdLang, I'd have asked him to consider (these programs are Not mutually exclusive in our school, but the teacher told me, together the workload will be hectic).

Our schools have fairly fixed permutations (I'm excluding the miscellaneous ones, like third language, AEP, MEP etceteta)... In my dc1's cohort, triple sciences is the norm in Year3+4, so it was a decision between HI or GE. In my dc2's cohort, sciences are more commonly CH+PH in Years3+4, & ~half of cohort can opt for triple sciences (that is, plus 1more science => BI or CompStudies, so 1less humanities like GE/HI). There're also more HI than GE combinations.

Ultimately, it is a matter of the child's current interest, I feel.

I realised, Malay 3rd language was a requisite for RSP. They were two different programs. I always thought RSP aka Malay 3rd language. No matter what, kid would just hold on till cannot cope, not forgetting that yearly 1k payout. The family agreed Science stream was out of question, but there was still requirement to maintain Sciences for overall gpa. For now, just had to hang on.

Really appreciate if any senior parents can give some insight into these 2 subjects thanks 🙏

Between History and Geo , given pretty much same level of interest and ability, which subject is easier to manage and score?
Hi, has the school given you some ideas of how each humanities could play a role in the student's future prospects (further studies, job applications...)? Ours quoted from Harvard College's Admissions page, listed up careers which could use knowledge for each... So you could consider along those lines?..
