Mp, I just guess if want to apply to local U then the poly course must be a related course right?

it really depends on pre-requisite of course . eg Engr dip may be able to apply comp sci courses in uni
Biz diploma can try accountancy degree , start fr Yr 1

UK A cant apply into sg universities.

should be v different, SG GCE A level is a killer
ds fren took UKA in msia, one yr later went to UK degree prog, just need money to send there, msian advantage ,
no need NS, choice not to take GCE A too
Our local uni (NUS + NTU) do accept students with UK-A level.

Only that we not sure what's the proportion of intake seats, by this group of applicants

UK A levels is 1.5 to 2 years if studying in the UK. But for students repeating A levels (i.e. fail SG A levels then want to do UK A levels), usually can get by with one year.

From SEAB-A switching over, to attempt UK-A, should be much easier lah !

                  Whereas

From SEAB-A switching over to IB, must find out
if there's any cut off age, and
how much difference in syllabus, per core subject.

Will think more when confronted with the situation. To me, the child's input is very important. If no buy in or interest, or not ready or not willing, no point. I am open to kids taking some time out, i.e. gap year etc, if they need it for their mental health or for whatever reasons. I don't wish for it to happen, but if it does, will deal with it then.

I wonder how difficult is it for the O level kids joining the IB in Y5 & 6… based on O results, these are better students to begin with, so their ability to follow will be better?

For A lvl students to take IB, should be at least abt same as O lvl’s taking IB, if not better? As they are at least more mature le.

Right now I m pro Poly but not dd..I told dd unless can get great results else really need to seriously consider Poly. Of course still depend on her. I don't mind the extra years..at least that is more time to mature. Dh told me to put the options down in writing.. well it is time to check already as the window period to make decision will be rather short after results out.
