I don't know why, just feel like eating it near CNY period. At other time, the urge is not there at all.
  then blame it on the herd mentality!  -
Maybe also because near CNY period, people becomes more conscious its existence. Another item is yusheng. The ingredients are not uncommon but we eat it only during CNY.
Well, this is one of the ways to celebrate CNY! -

Found this place at AMK, I think somewhere near Mayflower Sec school? It’s near a market and CC. Old shop with hardly anything fanciful, but nice bak kua! The spicy bak kua has a real kick and you can see the chilli seeds dotted all over the slice of bak kua! Not too oily but yet not too dry. The slicing is a bit on the thick side but acceptable. Sorry, really don’t know the name of the shop. I only bought 200g each of the spicy and non spicy, and the lady packed it in plastic bags for me, no box.

Bought Lim Chee Guan last Satuday. $44/kg.

There's a bak kua stall at Clementi, also very popular.
Does anyone know the exact location?
