No need to prepare, but I would be curious to know how my child can achieve although DD will be taking part next year.

School send out forms to sign up. I still on the fence. Son said if it’s difficult he doesn’t want. Hubby said must go for the test, at least for experience.
-
Just try no harm. U never know

Test is conducted during curriculum time. So if your child doesn't want to take, he will have to entertain ownself. nothing to prepare, just go and have fun.. -
Will tell him that later.
Thanks -
Just English and Mathematics test. English is just to test your strong vocabulary. If your child is an avid reader, he/she will probably ace it. Mathematics is a bit tricky. But if the child loves maths ,it should not be a prolem too. My child passed both rounds without any coaching or tutions. I didn’t expect him to get into GEP at all. So just let your child have a try.

We were in two minds as well. But figured there was no harm taking the test. Make the decision should the offer come. If it doesn't then nothing lost, right? -
Today was the 1st round of GEP test :). Any feedback from children on how was the exam? Tough or managed to do?

Mine said English is easier compared to Math.
-
My son says Maths was easy but English was tough.
Not a good indication though as his Maths is always stronger than his English. -
DD said that Maths is easy but English vocab is tough…
-
DC said Math was easier as compared to Eng.
-
Yes, my DD also said that Math was easy, English was tough especially the vocabulary section

DS said Maths is difficuilt, quite a number strong students from his class can not finish the maths paper. DS said English is easy.. got time to check, but got no time to check the maths paper eventhough he managed to finish it. Now I began to worry about the Maths standard of his school. Hopefully DS still manage to qualify to move on to round 2. As this is an indicator of being top 10% in the cohort. -
Any idea when will results of Round 1 be made known?

The school will usually notify the students that qualify by early October, and the second set of testing generally takes place over 2 mornings during the PSLE marking week (this year in the 3rd week of October)
Good luck!
