Titank...I typed wrongly. How about Nanyang (Phase 2B)?titank:
Hi,
I would suggest you try Ai Tong (Phase 2A1) at least is confirm have place. Nanyang Phase 2C most likely ballot scheme. Then everything depend on luck liao.
If I'm not wrong, Nanyang (Phase 2B) if there is ballot then have to depend on luck. I still suggest that you go for Ai Tong where it is confirm a place.
Anyway this is how I feel. You have to make a decision.
Since there is no SAP School near my place, I don't have to consider that. Also I do not want to add stress to children esp in SAP School. -
I was looking at the results of PSLE 2007 and I realized that only 3 of the top 15 pupils are boys!!!
Strange considering more than half of a cohort are boys!
Does this mean in Pri 6, girls are more hardworking? -

Generally girls are more matured and boys are more playful.

So i guess that plays a part in how they perform academically at 12 yrs old too. -

You need to do at least 10-15 years analysis to get more insight if the gender plays a strong part.I was looking at the results of PSLE 2007 and I realized that only 3 of the top 15 pupils are boys!!!

Having said that, generally, girls' strength in languages, boys' in math/science.
boy is disadvantaged when chinese or english is poor.
girl has an advantage becos math/science also use languages!!! kekeke.
honestly, gender does not matter in results....at the end the key positions in most industries still dominated by men... very successful women usually in the end still stand behind the man cos she has more options like looking after the kids based on current society's perception and need to multi-task... -
Just want to side-track a bit and share something I stumbled upon...
It's a thread in another forum... and I found it quite amusing.
A simple question regarding 'New Condos within 1 km of Tao Nan' became a heated exchange with name calling, slamming schools, etc... and I couldn't help but laugh out loud at one point when someone posted \"All the bitchy parents, go to school forum to fight, tis is condosingapore forum !!\"
Ha ha... we are not the 'bitchy parents' lah hor?! Ha ha ha...

That's what you get when you allow anonymous postings... -
ChiefKiasu:
I think they are not \"IN\" because the top pupils do not take PSLE anymore,
RGS did not even have a single student in that list.super_dad:
Tao Nan is top??? wow....
Surprised that RGS is at the bottom of the five.
In fact, the following GEP schools have very conspicuous no-shows in the top 15 last year:
Raffles Girls, Rosyth, Henry Park, Catholic High, and ACS Primary
They were pipped by the so-called neighbourhood schools:
Geylang Methodist, West Grove Primary, Canossa Convent, Nan Chiau and Kong Hwa.
they are in some \"direct path\" scheme...
Please correct me if I'm wrong... -

I've heard this reason cited quite often for the seemingly lack of students from the 'top' schools in PSLE rankings.I think they are not \"IN\" because the top pupils do not take PSLE anymore,
they are in some \"direct path\" scheme...
Please correct me if I'm wrong...
This is because the best of cohort are already accepted into the secondary school of their choice and they spend little to no effort for their PSLE. Usually for Direct Admission Scheme (DAS), they only need to pass their PSLE.
To be honest, for 99% of all 12 year olds, if you told them that they only need to pass to qualify, then they are not likely to give you anything more... -
Top Pri Sch = Top PSLE result
I would think the follow Pri schools which have GEP programme would most likely (although not always) produce Top PSLE results.
