UncleLim:I think I want to trust that policy makers do the best they can for Singaporeans. But who are the actual policy makers? Who does the research? Who writes the papers? I know eventually some permanent secretary or minister will sign it off, but I won't want these scenarios:(1) Unmarried, divorced or gay policy writers in matters concerning families(2) Young and healthy scholars from elite backgrounds deciding on how to tackle problems concerning destitutes and the neglected aged(3) Civil servants who have multiple cars (for themselves and their family) deciding on public transport standards and improvementDo you expect the destitutes to write policies for themselves then? And perhaps make you, the taxpayer, pay for them?I think they should be helped, but I fear your criteria as to who should write policies is a tad simplistic.
