Oh ok. I sent email on Friday once received RI’s email but so far have not received any request or acknowledge. Will try to call them, as the deadline to confirm the test is today.
I was wondering what deadline is this, if it's this NUSH form, then we've submitted the confirmation form the day we received it. No harm to just submit it now if not yet, and wait for the email for the new date/time.

Then after forwarding RI's email:
Recd with thanks. Please wait for the later email on the new test time.

Now that we are preparing for RI DSA Math test this Saturday, I wonder if any parents here can share what does the test typically like? Perhaps based on your children’s experience, those who went through the test in recent years.

is it more like RIPMWC where the problems are super hard that just getting 9 out 20 correct already puts you at top 3% (this was what happened for my son’s RIPMWC)?

or is it more like SMOPS where there are plenty of problems, reasonably medium to hard, but there’s just not enough time (so it’s more about testing the speed of solving)?

or is it more like NMOS where the problems have hidden insights with which the answer will become easy? (so it’s about testing "thinking out of the box")

or is it more like SMO Junior where it’s actually for Secondary students level of math olympiad?

or is it more like AMC8 / AMC10 where you have enough time to solve all problems and it’s about getting as close to all correct as possible?

or… is it gonna be IMO style where students have to write essays of math proof?

Hi all,

NUSH and Temaseck JC DSA sec preliminary tests falls on the same day and time (jul 2nd). Anyone facing similar issues? What can I do about it?
For our case NUSH is arranging a different date/time as 2 Jul clashes with RI. You can forward your TJC confirmation email to [email protected] and ask for new arrangements.

NUSH email is out
Just received it too, they send by batches perhaps, not all at once.

There’s a form to fill up to confirm attendance.

we applied for NUS, SST and RI
domain : Mathematics
Received from SST.. May I know about how to prepare for round 1 written test..

anyone received from NUS?
NUSH not yet, and there will be written test on 2 July for ALL applicants so no need to worry/anxious about the email.

We applied for NUSH, RI & NJC. Was about to apply for SST too but my son decided not to, so we put NJC instead.

RI have a clear timeline that shortlisted candidates will be finalised by 26 Jun for test on 2 July.

Thanks for sharing! Would you know if NJC has sent out to all STEAM applicants or this is selective too?
I’m curious too, whether they request the personal statement from everyone or they’ve already filtered/shortlisted. We don’t have other friends who applied either.

For those who use GMail, a small tips:

We can define an email filter where if the sender is from edu.sg or gov.sg, then never send to spam, mark as important, star it, etc.

We’ve just received email from NJC:
Thank you for applying to National Junior College through the DSA-Sec exercise.

As part of the shortlisting process for your application in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Aesthetics and Mathematics), please response to this email the following by end of 26 Jun 2022 (Sun):

A personal statement (in no more than 2 A4 pages in length) supporting your admission through DSA (STEAM) and any supporting documents relevant for the application.

Personal statements and all relevant supporting documents should be submitted as a single document (file format: PDF).
The school has always had the DSA Selection test for *all applicants*. (only in 2020 and 2021 - there was no test due to COVID).

From the selection test, there will then be a Selection Camp for abt 400 plus or so.

All the best !
Ah thanks for the correction, corrected my original post.

Any ideas/tips on what to expect and how to prepare?
