Is your DS in MS? Can you share what are his results like, in the 90s or 80s for all the subjects? Does he have anything to show leadership quality. My child does not have activities to show leadership and the primary school has never offered the bilingual camp, or competition. So I think our application is going to be very weak. Yes, he was in MS and average for all subjects was above 90. He did not have leadership records but has a good portfolio with achievements in acad competitions. As far as I know, all the boys above 90s were called to take the tests & interview. i think one cannot be overly prepared for the interview as the schools in general are not looking for stereotype answers but just trying to know if the child is a good fit for the school.
Just go for it, as this year's academic DSA may be very different from prior years. It is a good experience and exposure for 12 year old:).

Thank you, Atan for your advice. What are some of the competitions your DS had taken? Mine only has the NSW ICAS for which he only managed to get distinction but not high distinction. As for all the math olympiad, he could not get anything.

I understand that MOE will be announcing some changes to DSA on 9 May. Likely more focus will be placed on other talents instead of academic.

Wow... proud of your DD, 678Yess ! She must have done very well as it is not easy to get in via academic. If I may ask is she from GEP or MS? How's her academic results like all along and how did she demonstrate that she has capabilities beyond those of her peers? These are the criteria stated on the websites. :scared: . Do you know how many got in via English domain and others such Science or Chinese ? Anyone knows about HCI and RI ? Thanks.

So far, it appears that only RI has DSA via a certain subject domain? Does anyone know how many are admitted via each of these subject domain? If the child's scores in each subject is about the same, isnt it difficult to decide which domain to go into? Then the next question will be to try for the subject that has the most opening? Oh dear... so many question marks. I doubt if the school will disclose !
