Yes, sci is now my son's worst subj aft eoy.

Hi Steadyberry, your ds is in which Year? My ds is in Year 3 and the difficulty level for the EOY exams is really unlike any other previous years, for all subjects, esp for Math and Science and even HMT! They have really up the standard! 10 failed the Math 2 paper in ds class

For Y1, Math and HCL were not easy, gauging from the results. My DS class (Y1 non GEP), only 1 boy got 4.0 for Math and nobody got 4.0 for HCL. Highest is only 74%. Is this type of results typical in the past ? We are getting the \"report card\" this Friday. For every subject, there is a percentile profile so that we know how the boys did vis-a-vis the cohort for each subject. Will there by an overall percentile for the GPA ?

Will there be any parent-teacher meeting for Y1 ? Parents can discuss with the various subject teachers on their boys' results, and get more info on cohort performance from them.

      Hi iFirefly,

unfortunately, there is no more PTM this year. Last one was end of Term 3.
Hi parents,

My DS is in Y1 and am trying to plan my June holidays. Was told at the academic briefing that they boys will have 2 weeks of \"free\" time during the June and Dec holidays. Is there a definite period of free time or it depends on the CCA and whether the boy has remedial lessons ?
      Thanks in advance. ☺

No definite period, depends on CCA and remedial. Most CCAs will try to either use the first week or the last week for CCA. Remedial almost always in week 1. Best to check with teachers.

My daughter is in the JC section, but I recall the principal saying at the Y5 briefing last year that as a school policy, they don't have activities in the 2nd and 3rd week of the June holidays. Still, it's best to check with the individual CCA if there's anything special on during that time.
Thanks, RafflesianSnr and slmkhoo !

Heard from DS (Y1) today that his art teacher has shortlisted him for AEP. I know that AEP boys must take Art and Photography as a Merit CCA. If take another Sport as a CCA, is that a stretch in terms of time commitment? Does any parent have any experience to share please? Thanks in advance !

Hi, am new here and hope to join the RI family next year 🙂

May I know if Japanese as a 3rd language is taken in the school campus or at MOE Language Centre at Bishan? Thanks.

Hi, 3rd Language lessons are held outside of school.

Thanks, metz2! One more question, what are the literature books used in year 1 please?
