Your best portable scanner is the HP Smart App! Saves you a whole load of money, creates pdfs, helps you save or share.. 🙂

    • RE: Dyscalculia ? Any solutions in Singapore?

True about getting her interested first:)

Have started playing ‘who has more’ and ‘how many more’ games with her. Also observed that she is developing a block towards large 2 and 3 digit numbers. She is quick to figure who has more…but gives up when she can’t count on her fingers to workout the answer.
Shall stop looking at her text books and e-Math assignments for the time being and work on motivation and interest.
Any ideas on stage-appropriate games would be appreciated:))

Thanks Leo. Did go through The Number Race. Shall download and try with my daughter. It’s good to know that it has a built-in algorithm that adjusts to the child’s ‘level’. It seems to require less parent intervention as compared to Karismath, though there seems to be a method there, too.

Grateful for the many suggestions from this forum.

      Thanks Deminc, will do that.

Also came across a site called Karismath.com which offered a well thought out downloadable program for numeracy challenged children. 🙂

    • RE: Dyscalculia ? Any solutions in Singapore?

      Hi,

My DD is in P2 and has been asked join Math Remedials from next month. My DH and I have observed her working Math assignments - sequencing, counting backwards, place value, confusion in the symbols +-X etc., inability to comprehend simple word problems if the semantics are changed - eg.' more than', `how many more'.. All symptoms are pointing towards `Dyscalculia'.

Would appreciate if any of you have had any experience `fixing' this in your child...did you use a particular method or Institution...?

      Thanks in advance! 😄
