• RE: Am I able to take the 2017 A level chem physics?

      slmkhoo:
Have you asked SEAB/MOE if they can allow you to take the old syllabus papers at a JC/MI which is still holding them? The old syllabus is still listed under \"school candidates\" so they should still be held somewhere. Since yours is a special case, they may have some way to help you. No harm asking.

I have emailed to SEAB and gotten a reply that I have to take the new syllabus.
What worries the most is the chem/physics practical since I have no place to practice

    • RE: Am I able to take the 2017 A level chem physics?

Hi, I’m a school candidate in 2015,my subject combination is PCME. However I didnt do well for my A level and decide to retake in 2017(i didnt retake in 2016 due to some reasons, partly due to NS)

I decide to retake all my H2 and GP in 2017 but realised there’s a change in syllabus.
So am I able to register as private candidate in 2017 since I dont have any knowledge about the new practical paper
Or is there any private institution that offers preparatory course that only practice chem/physics practical?

I've read about the NYP HealthScience course for A level holder.

      http://www.nyp.edu.sg/future-students/a ... h-sciences

But I have some doubts, whats their admission criteria? coz i cant seem to find the IGP for those courses. And the degree obtain after 4 years is it the same as those from university?
Maybe you should apply to all uni and at the same time re sit the exam. Just to play safe.

If I apply to my JC and they accept me to retake as JC student will I be able to drop out from JC if one Uni accept me after that ? Because I'm planning to apply all university

      Why not?
How about the army thing ? Coz If I defer to retake as JC student and after that got accepted by one of the Uni and drop out from JC. Does that mean I'll join other batch of BMT? Coz JC batch BMT ends at April

I've browsed the UniSim website and found something interesting but i am still pretty unsure about it. The tuition fees of UniSim is not by year but is by degree programme. The \"all basic degree'' is roughly $33876 SGD per degree programme, thats like $11292 SGD a year(if take a 3 years programme) , which is similar to the annual fees of SMU. But here comes my doubt, if one spent 3 years in local uni such as NTU and SUTD all those, how many degree will the student get?

If its also 1 degree, then i think ill give UniSim a shot cause what i worried about study private u is the cost. QAQ

The undergraduates in the local uni usually get ONE degree unless they are admitted into a double degrees program which usually takes 4 years or more.

Thanks! I will apply for it tomorrow and hopefully one of the uni will accept me T.T

I just received my A level result and it is rather bad,i only got 58.5. I know i cantget into NUS, NTU and SMU, but is there a chance for me to enter SUTD and SIT?

It depends on how many H2 passes you have and whether you passed GP and any Add math in O level.

Many options also depend on what you want to do as a career going forward.

Not the end of the world.

If you really want to go through the local uni, okay to retake the A level - many people done that too.

I pass all H2 and H1 but you know is all those borderline passes...and i i took Add maths in O level even though is only a B3
