count me in as well. i feel that phase 2A with its ‘unlimited allocation’ of places is totally unfair to the remaining phases.
on top of this, if i can have my wish, i’d like to see Phase 2A have the singaporean have absolute priority included.
distance priority remains for all phases.

RE: 2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take
ChiefKiasu:
Echoing manyoo692005, I share the same sentiments. Thanks chief to you and your team to conceive this website, maintaining it and more importantly making it free for all to access. My hope is for this website to continue so that the future batch of parents can also benefit. I also hope that you can generate enough income so that this website can continue to thrive.
Thank you manyoo692005! Indeed it is really through the selfless sharing of parents that we can make a difference in other's lives. I have learnt much myself in this process. We are grateful to all our moderators and parents who are unselfish in providing real time information and clarifying doubts so that everyone can go through the registration process with their eyes wide open.manyoo692005:
Thanks to Chief Kiasu again, :udaman: for his foresight in coming up with and diligence in maintaining this incredible website. It was here I managed to get my DD into her school 2 years ago. And here again, I had relied on KSP to strategize my latest registration. Like I said 2 years back, long may this website be around to help concerned parents make the right choices.
Thanks also to all the forum participants who shared info and figures so willingly and expeditiously. Your contributions are what keeps all of us informed and what keeps this forum/site alive.
This website has helped many parents like me share information, do research and network to finally make informed decisions for our kids’ P1 registration. I benefited from the wealth of information and networking on this site. The current system at MOE could have been more efficient especially with the release of vital live information (especially for crunch Phases 2B and 2C) as competition for places are most intense. Unless this process is fully automated (i.e. computerised and/or on-line), this is simply just not possible.
Singaporeans being adaptable will find an alternative and this website is the next best thing there is out there where information are shared and broadcasted (almost live in some cases) for all to make reference to. I witnessed the fury posts, sharing live information. The sheer number of users hitting this website at the closing stages was just crazy. To all the selfless parents that who shared the critical vacancy availability information – kudos to you. It is just amazing to witness this Singaporean phenomenon. Unless all schools truly are good schools homogeneously in every aspect (maybe like the Scandinavian school system) I will have the opinion that our primary schools are never the same.
To all the parents who were successful in getting into the school of your choice -congratulations. To all who are balloting, all the best! -
RE: 2013 P1 Registration Exercise for 2014 In-Take
there is a surge of users hitting this website/forum causing the load on server hosting this to work doubly hard that is why you see the slow response. just be patient.

nevertheless,- kudos to chief and his partners for having this so that parents can share, network, seek advice, research, etc. so that informed decisions are made for this annual P1 registration affair. the wealth of information especially the balloting history (6-7 years of data?) has been extremely helpful. for the parents kudos to you for making the effort for your child, the things we as parents do for our kids ...
final hour for this years 2C registration. parents, look at your situation with the information and the options you and make that decision. all the best! -

Hi jeffreyjeffrey:
Hi, I read that MSH has church affiliation applicants under Phase 2B. any church or just the church in the school?
Phase 2B is for parent (either one) who is a Catholic or the child to be
registered is a Catholic. Either the parent or child’s Baptismal Certificate
must be produced upon registration.
You just enrolled your kid in via Phase 2B right? Did you give them your baptism cert or the child's cert? MSHS wanted the child's cert last time.
Hi cherrygal -
Yes I did and I'm thankful that we got in.
We are baptised catholic and I brought along all 3 baptism cert. At the registration table the lady (probably MSH staff or MOE officer) took my application form and asked for the original documents. I took out the birth cert, ICs and baptism certs. She verified all the original documents with the application form and as for the baptism cert, she only made reference to mine which was on top. She checked it with her reference book and I heard her talking to herself, xxx parish, yes check.
When I was researching, I also checked with both SJI Jr and MSH. Both the schools told me that for phase 2B, applicants can apply using the parents' (either one) or the child's baptism cert. Obviously if the child has a baptism cert, the parents (or at least one of them) should already have been baptised.
Thanks. -

Hi daddy77 -Hi Jeffry,
Just want to understand better on the MOE student intake system, as i'm very new about this.
I don't understand why there should be phase 2C if in phase 2B there's balloting for children staying outside 2km. Shouldn't they taken up all the remaining in phase 2B first?
Or is the system require not to take up 100% before phase 2C ends?
I will recommend that you familiarize yourself with the P1 registration process. Get to know what the \"rules and boundaries\" are before planning your next steps. Study the options that you have.
Let me point you to 2 links, I hope find them helpful.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/allocation/
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/understanding-singapore-primary-school-registration-processes
My take on the P1 registration is ..... its all about connection. It is through connections that some have birth-rights and have access to a higher pecking order, while others will find ways to get connection so as to get a better priority. Some have choices while others don't have much. I guess some will let fate determine their outcome. Nevertheless MOE has assured all parents that there will be enough P1 places for everyone.
Cheers -
RE: Catholic Primary Schools
girl_next_door:
Hey girl_next_door -Yes, the son is SC and not baptised. We never really thought about baptism but its probably something we need to consider now. He has never been to any Catholic Church here so he is also not sure how different it will be, compared to his \"kampong\".
My husband don't have a baptism certificate. Everyone is a catholic in his \"kampong\" and they don't issue certificates for such things.
Will we have problems if he prefer to baptise his son in his hometown instead of Singapore? It's the kind of things that his mum would probably prefer to witness.
Let me provide you with a link to a document from SJI Jr, hopefully this will provide useful information that can be helpful. This document will provide some answers to your questions. Look at bullet points #11, #13 and #14.
http://www.sjijunior.edu.sg/cms/uploads/Latest%20Announcement/2011_P1_Registration_FAQ.pdf
When I was researching for information regarding SJI Jr and P1 registration this year (2013), I called the school to verify this information. I would also suggest that you call SJI Jr directly to have a chat with them to clarify your doubts and details of the information in the document (if there are changes).

How can my child be eligible for Phase 2B registration?
Phase 2B is for parent (either one) who is a Catholic or the child to be
registered is a Catholic. Either the parent or child’s Baptismal Certificate
must be produced upon registration.
13
Is there balloting in the respective Phase 2B?
Yes, there has been balloting for the past 5 years. Below is a brief
summary of balloting over the last 5 years:
Children living within 1 km of the school (NO Balloting)
Children living between 1 km and 2 km of the school (NO Balloting)
Children living outside 2 km of the school (Balloting)
14
Is there balloting in the respective Phase 2C?
Yes, there has been balloting for the past 5 years. Below is a brief
summary of balloting over the last 5 years:
Children living within 1 km of the school (NO Balloting)
Children living between 1 km and 2 km of the school (Balloting)
Children living outside 2 km of the school (Rejected)
Documentation in the form of a baptism cert is definitely needed for phase 2B. The church may have a register recording all baptism in the past. Your husband can approach his parish to have some form of documentation prepared. Likewise if you son is to be baptised there, request for the baptism cert/documentation.
Since the boy is SC and you are residing within 1km, based on past balloting history, I have the opinion that the odds are very high in getting a P1 place at SJI Jr at both phase 2B and phase 2C.
My 2-cents. Hope this helps, cheers.
All the best and God bless.
