Actually nothing much, just that I do less cooking.I still mop and clean the whole hse daily.Probably systematic routine is the way to go.

The only thing that worry me is to neglect my pri five girl.I am trying to slow down on my hsework.I am very particular the cleanliness of my flooring.

      Cheers

      Joy, good for you!

I was without maid for 2 months after my errant maid was sent home and waiting for the new maid. I agree with you, no maid equals no mental stress equals privacy but also equals less clean house. Yes? So how do you cope? Care to share?

      Hello, how is mummies here...

I am now into my 10TH months without maid.So far, OK.Someone just asked, how to go without a maid with a house that is big.To me, its how one manage the time.,Am sure there are mummies who are coping equally well.

I am stress free in terms of maid problems. No need to supervise them, be it work or others. When I do laundry, I can see other maids walked past looking at my direction, as if hoping that they will see another maid and starts making friends...

Whenever am at the backyard, I never failed to see my neighbour's maid on the phone, 10 out of 10 times is on the handphone.I wonder, she is hired here to work as a maid or a telephone operator. That really discourage me to have a maid cos I cannot tahan that....

Cheers to all mummies who are doing so well even with no maid.....

Hi mummies, I just got myself a Dyson DC22 vacuum cleaner, very light and effective. Its my new toy and now, I love to vacuum everything. I dun like to sweep floor or use the magic clean because I feel not clean enough. I love to vacuum but those bulky heavy and not effective cleaners made me tired. Finally I am happy with this. Although it cost about $700, hubby was saying, one month maid salary + levy can cover the cost already. So its not expensive. 😄 Its bagless, cyclone suction, light, small and cute!

I cannot stand hair lying on the floor everywhere and when I mop floor, I would add dettol and once a while, with hot water. Hubby ask me, is our floor full of bacteria?

I have thought of irobot but heard comments from friends, not very clean. And the next problem is my place is quite compact, full of furnitures.

My next target is the Karachi steamer to mop the floor. The salesman told me wait till Dec X'mas sale. 😄

      Janet

You are so right and u know exactly what I mean. They dont make friend is the last thing in their list.I sound mean, but they had given me lots of problem, worst than looking after my own children.

I just converted my maid's room into gymn room, it took a long while for me to throw away maid's mattress, cos am still wondering will i quit...In the end, I have decided not to have any more maid.

      Mrs Ang,
I get my curtains from Expo sale usually, either John Little or Robinsons.
You can check out Giant too.

      Joy,
I know what you mean. Other maids tend to walk past my direction hoping to see another maid to make friend. Maids always do that, like men trying to bewitch women.
My daughter told me NO more maids because she doesn't want maid to sleep in her room anymore.

They dont mind the phone bills.I think the maids are richer than the employer in that sense.

I have maid that used up whole month salary just to yak cos they enjoy it.

      Breadandmuffins:
Telephone operator....I ever see a maid squatting on window ledge cleaning windows with one ear \"hugging\" on the phone ...super dangerous...they just cannot stop talking at all...I wonder how much is their phone bill every mth...

    • RE: scan and post our kids exam papers

You are right, buying is the most convenient way since its just like pay and go.

I know of some device can erase the answer quite easily, cannot really remember what is that tho.

      Jennifer:
Erasing the ans and scanning and then coordinating the sharing and putting up the right ans actually takes a lot of time. Think more convenient to buy from vendor.

The supplier has established his networks and thus providing the service.Parents are the one that is willing to accept the trading conditions from him.Its a demand and supply condition.

I heard most people just want to buy sci and math. They not willing to sell separately, but in full set.

      Hi Joy,
They also sell separately, it's a matter of cost. Based on the printed price which you can see at the right hand corner of the printout for 2010 P6 Prelim top papers:

      English: $15
      Maths: $18
      Science: $18
      Chinese: $15

If you take the whole package for 4 subjects, they will sell you at $40. I am not sure how they sell for 1, 2 or 3 subjects. Perhaps, other members can share their experience. Let's say that you are not taking Chinese as your mother tongue, so you will buy 3 subjects-English,Maths and Science. So, the price maybe $15+$18+$18= $51 with or without discount? Think it's better to check with the kiosk vendor directly or whatever.

Does anyone know if we can get the 2010 Top schools' prelims papers now? Please share if you know where to get them. Thought it's good for DD to do some practice before the PSLE.

      Thanks.

      Hi Lizawa,

You may contact Jeremy 90216478, he mentioned the papers should be ready by today or tomorrow.
