Thank you all for your encouragement. Lucky also got my hubby and friends to cheer me up. So all is not gone yet. Just hope for the best next week. Plan A fails, go with Plan B. If Plan B fails also, then Plan C, lor Six years of pri edu is a long way to go. Must make a wise choice. Though I know my 1st choice was my wise choice for my kid, the odds were extremely great. Gosh, now thinking back on why I took that road down, I am amazed myself. Nobody to blame but it's really all boils down to luck when one decided to gamble and forge ahead with balloting.


I would still hope to get my kid back to 1st choice if given a chance. Perhaps just go on waitlist and see how. If still no luck, then the higher being is telling me a no means no :sad:

I am so emotionally tired throughout this journey...didn't sleep well and till this afternoon I am still feeling lousy...the image of the balloting scene keeps flashing back...can't even take an afternoon nap to calm myself :sad:

You're not alone. This year is a crazy year. So many schools including neighborhood schools are over-subscribed. Still don't comprehend...is it that we have too many PRs or have too many people moved closer to popular schools???? Hiaz...I'm just so disheartened to see my chance slipped away just like that...tried PV failed, tried balloting failed. Now just hinge on Phase 2CS outcome. Hopefully everyone gets into their 2nd choice school :xedfingers:

Give yourself a little time to take it in then forge ahead. It is great that you already have your backup plan. As you say, reassess your plan B and Plan C. IMHO, try to avoid a balloting situation in the next Phase.

You are right. The registration is but only the first tiny step into the new chapter of our child's life. It is a marathon ahead. It is all the preparation and the continuous support in the long journey that is worth all our energy.

I hope not to go through balloting again. It was nerve wrecking and chest thumping! Was an emotional roller coaster. But I know for the fact that my 2nd choice is also a 2nd choice for many who didn't succeed in Phase 2C balloting. So I will have to fall back on 3rd choice if I see the former one is being over-subscribed.

I just hate to go through this period now and am sure many of the unsuccessful applicants are too. Why can't I enjoy a good weekend and the upcoming National Day holiday? Still have to torment myself one more round next week...Hiaz...................

I too didn’t succeed in balloting. More disappointment than anything else. Balloting is all about luck. Now just have to move on to trying out Plan B next week. Have to face my child later and am sure the question about the school will come up. Just going to remain positive and calm…

Singapore schools should give Singaporean kids the priority to register...no point bringing up the prices to differentiate between PRs & Singaporeans, and forgetting the impt issue of P1 REGISTRATION. Once PRs get their kids into our schools, the younger ones will enjoy guaranteed Phase 1.

If PRs want to enjoy similar priority, kindly convert.

Absolutely, totally, completely agreed with all of you here. :goodpost: Even my hubby who's a man of few words finally opened up and remarked that further distinction must be made between SGs and PRs...totally exclude the latter from Phase 1 to 2C.
