Just saw results for De La Salle, out of 72 places, 47 taken up! Tmrw going to register and just try my luck. If cannot get a place for DLS at Phase 2B and I move to 2C for Yew Tee, does it mean its auto cancelled and you can freely apply for Phase 2C at Yew Tee?

Yes, no matter where the sch moves to temporary, its original premise will be used to determine the distance to your home. I think what Maxine means is that the number will surge up as the consideration for parents are now the distance travels to sch everyday.[/quote]

BTW - does any one know if its ok to call up the school and ask how many have registered today? Do they entertain such calls?Or will MOE update the registered nos. today on their web quite quickly?

Hi Janet, yes you are right. I called the school and they confirmed they will use original address not the temporary location. I guess maybe previous years parents did not want to go through hassel of travelling to Teck Whye (temp location) so lower registration? Now with DLS moving back to old location and Southview with such low chances, more parents will go for DLS this 2013 intake. Thats why i was thinking I should beo beo morning first then if low chance might as well go to CHIJ QLP (Phase 2B) in the later pm. ...my kiasu strategy :oops:

I am registering my DD tomorrow to gauge the chances. Thinking of asking staff tomorrow how are my chances? If low chances (cos school moving back to old location so think more parents will be trying again versus 2 years ago), then will try CHIJ Bukit Timah or Yew Tee Primary.

By the way you can also look up to babycenter.com and sign up for the developmental milestones section where each week they tell you how your kid will start to behave at this age or is behaving and they explain why she is exploding/throwing tantrums and how to handle.

Hi pinkkitty, I think this is a norm for kids their age. They know that they can walk and run anywhere their little legs can take them and they know they can 'operate" certain things so regardless of how you shout at them or spank them they will still do it. This is the "terrible 2s" stage when all kids hitting 2 will just do anything and everything, don listen and see how far they can push us. Do not give into them though as then they realise that we are pushable and they will continue on doing it as they grow older. Continue to stay firm and keep saying No in a stern voice and let them understand that the behaviour is not acceptable.


Can understand how you feel. My baby girl is goin on 2 next month and she started her terrible 2s early! Purposely keep doing it again and again even when you remove her from the place you don want her to go or touch. So its actually normal.

Hi everyone. Can advise if both parents must be present at the registration at school? Or only 1 is ok as long as got all the documents?

note: if both parent having address on the IC to be different: no matter due to what reason by Father Address will be follow. and the School distance is based on Father Address on IC.

Is this only in cases of parents who are divorced if they have different address? I tot the school will take IC of the one who is having the child in custody. didnt know they will take the Father's address totally.

They give 2 dates is to avoid human traffic jam. If there is only 1 date for registration for Phase 2B and Phase 2C, the school administration sure crowded until queue outside school compound. Also the 2nd date is also to give alternative option in case some people cant take leave or go down to register on one particular date. I am relieved about that though. It would be really stressful to only have 1 date per phase. It will be a replica of years ago Singaporeans queuing for Hello Kitty overnight at McDonalds. :faint:
