    • RE: All About Learning Japanese

I have enrolled myself at Bunka language centre for Japanese lessons, found their way of teaching grammar very effective, and the teacher will always engage students in conversations using content taught in the previous week to reinforce concepts. Perhaps you can consider enrolling together with your child for the lessons, can be good bonding sessions with your child as well.

    • RE: Wisdom Teeth Extraction

I went for general anaesthesia to remove 4 of my wisdom teeth at Khoo Teck Puat hospital.

For general anaesthesia, the dentist would put you to sleep before doing the extraction.
By the time I woke up, I didn’t even know that the operation was already over and the wisdom teeth have already been extracted.
Overall, I would say go for the extraction if you do not wish to face nagging pain in your teeth over the long run.

    • RE: Bed bugs!

I used to have bed bugs at home in the past and have managed to get rid of them completely using self DIY and did not seek any professional help.

What I did was to catch and kill all the adult bedbugs that I found on the underside of the bedding.
Then I used hair dryer and apply heat to kill off any eggs which are too small to be seen at the naked eye.
After two to three rounds of applying heat with the hair dryer over the span of about one week, the bed bugs were completely removed from my place of residence.

Hope this tip can be useful to any one of you having bedbug issues at home. They can be really hard to get rid of.

    • RE: [Fun Poll] Holidays 2018 - Where You'll be Going

Isit the first time your family is going to Japan?

If you like city life, then you you can visit Tokyo. Some places of interest include Disneyland, Shibuya and Shinjuku. They also have a Gundam themed shopping mall and Science Museum known as Miraikan in Odaiba.

If you prefer more of the rustic lifestyle and want to have a more slow paced holiday, then Kyoto is the place for your family. There are many historic temples like Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkakuji, Fushimi Inari Shrine. There is also the bamboo forest known as Arashiyama bamboo grove.

    • RE: PW results

I would say that both subjects are challenging in their own ways.

PW will largely depend on the project that the group has chosen. As one of the marking criteria is about whether students are able to generate innovative and insightful ideas, if the project does not allow students to come up with solutions that are new and different from current existing measures, they will not be able to score in this component. Another important component is students’ oral presentation skills, whether they are able to effectively engage the audience.

General Paper will require students to have a good grasp of current affairs so that they have supporting evidence to support their points in the essay. They will also need to be proficient in their argumentative skills in writing.

    • RE: All About Market Rates of Private Tutors

Agree with iwork that it is more difficult to get a 1 to 1 tutor in the second half of the year.

If your child is not performing well, my advice is to make full use of the June holiday to catch up on work.
I am currently offering O Level tuition for E Math, A Math, Chemistry and Physics, so you can contact me if any of your child needs help 🙂
