      phtthp:
if your house is nearby the Kumon centre, twice a week still manageable.

but if your house is far away from the centre, twice a week is taxing.

      nightlone,
can I check is your son's centre each session 30 minutes or 45 minutes, for Kumon Maths ? TQ
haiz he dreams... so he takes almost an hr...

Hi am still a novice at this form. But my 2007 dd will join p1. I have not studied in singapore but dh has. His school was Swiss cottage primary now

Merged with another school and become
Balestier hill primary. We are very close
To the school. I need feedback on the school. Anyone knows? I know
There is new principal and she has brought about lot of changes in the school. If
Anyone can help then it will be good.

hi dears, I have been receiving the following advice:

Choose your DS or DD school wisely.

Remember if you choose a competitive school (though it may be a good school) - be prepared for 6 years of very, very hard work. It is okay if your DS or DD can take it. Otherwise, they may be very stressed and may 'break down'. :yikes:

Best to choose a school which you feel is not 'pressurising' to let them have a fair balance of work and play. You will build a very happy child and the bond between you and your child will grow (cos you can spend happy moments with the child instead of just pressurising them to do homework, study etc etc)

That's the advice I am getting also and will take it as I want my dd to enjoy their childhood as well. Also I am looking into single session schools can come home early and have tome to so homework study and play also.

A little anxious about her adjusting to P1 from childcare. I started working FT six months back so all things are new but she is super excited about going to a big school

If for me, I will use it as my back up for Phase 2Cs. There will be plenty of vacancies left in new school after Phase 2C.

Errrrrr, not necessarily. In 2011, registering for kids going to P1 in 2012, Frontier Primary School, a new school with first intake for 2012 P1, was over-subscribed and balloting was conducted for parents living within 1km. So all the P1 students were balloted in.

Some parents like new schools becos of new facilities or impressed with the leadership or within walking distance to their homes.

Best to monitor situation and not take things for granted.
