Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

Which one would you choose?

Last year (2012) phase 2c :-
Marymount convent still has remaining vacancies.
Pr can still enter under 2c.

It is only in phase 2c supp then people start to rush to Marymount & apply -
Because After realize that they had no luck in their first choice desired school,
Then they start to eye Marymount, as a backup school.

So if you are a pr and apply Marymount under 2c, should be all right.
But if apply under 2c supp, there is a high risk of balloting, because many people rush to her as a last resort backup school.

At phase 2c Between Kuo Chuan and Marymount :-
Marymount no need to ballot for pr. Just walk straight in, you will get it.
But for Kuo Chuan - pr staying within 1 km, need to ballot :-

If you compare 2011 psle Marymount convent against Cannosa convent :-
Marymount's English performed better than canossa English.
But the other 2 subjects (Maths, science) somewhat similar :-

Yes we are aware of the fact that if we want to put her at Marymount then we must register under phase 2C.
We also live within 1KM from Kuo Chuan. So really we are torn between trying our luck at KCPPS :xedfingers: or go straight to Marymount.

Hello, we are singaporean staying at punggol…considering between CHIJ OLN and Horizon.


CHIJ we have to struggle for the transport but we will be in Phase 2B (reading past history still have chance).
Horizon will be at Phase 2C.

headache …since july is coming soon…appreaciate expert feed back.

If u are staying within 1km of Horizon, quite safe to get in without balloting.
The safer bet is CHIJ oln though. They have a mini open house (1hr tour) on 25/6, 10am. Must call to register to get a feel of the school.

I am staying at punggol too, right beside horizon. Am eligible for phase 2B at Mee Toh but still looking at CHIJ oln, phase 2C. Hv been advised that all Singaporean, regardless of distance managed to get in at this phase.

Rather than start off with strengths and weaknesses of each school, you might perhaps want to let us know which phase your child will be in. No point checking the strengths and weaknesses if you don't stand a chance during the P1 registration, since your child will be in the 1-2 km category which puts him out of contention in ZDPS and RMPS for P2C.

hi I am staying in Pasir ris dr1. I would like to try for St hilda primary which is more than 2 km.I am in phase 2c what are the chances. Or should I try park view primary

or meriden primary which are within 1 km.Which of these 2 is a better academic
school.
