Oh, btw... any parents here had done statutory declaration at MOE?

Yes, got our SD done at MOE yesterday using the grandparents address.

How s the procedure like? I m going to get it done tomorrow.
Quite fast, ard 15-20mins. We went there ard 1pm, filled up the forms and waited for our turn to take the oath. Only 1 parent and the caregiver (grandparent/sibling, whoever's address you are using) will take the oath.

Just remember to bring all the necessary documents as stated by MOE.

How s the procedure like? I m going to get it done tomorrow.
Here's a quick guide to what to expect for statutory declaration. Go to MOE pick up statutory declaration form, fill up form, take queue number, get ready original and necessary documents. Note: the recent employment letter has to be dated within this year and HR has to state on a simple recent employment letter that the employee is working FULL-TIME in the company. Both parents original OC, caregiver original IC, BC to prove relationship of the parent and caregiver. Then one by one will get called into room to be questioned. No 2 people are allowed in the room at a time. If the parent enters the room to declare first, the caregiver will be outside the room. The parent will take oath to declare and may be asked a few questions. After that, parent exits and caregiver enters room to take oath to declare and be questioned if necessary. The officer will key the necessary info into system for Pri 1 registration for statutory declaration. (note: only 1 parent that is directly related to caregiver is needed to be present for statutory declaration.
Hint: As long as fulfil all the criteria needed for statutory declaration, please do not go give extra details yourself if officers never question you or caregiver.
Hope this helps those who are genuinely using statutory declaration to get the child into a good school of choice.

If the parents made statutory declaration and later decide not to use that to get child into school, the parent does not need to go MOE to void the statutory declaration.

I got the above info from a MOE officer when I emailed them to call me back. I asked so many questions and the officer was so patient and revealed more info to me. Thankful to meet such good customer service officer.

I'm going next week to MOE for statutory declaration. Excited about it.

I'm registering next Tue but thinking of going in the afternoon to avoid morning crowd. Anyway, 2A1 shouldn't be too many people, I supposed.

Btw, can anyone share the questions asked? My mom can’t speak English and wondering if the MOE officers are Chinese speaking?

                    Planning to go next week.

Also, how do we void the SD should we decide not to use it? Through the school??
