The Participants in the Balloting Process

      The Soon-to-be Ex-Friends/Ex-Relatives
These are the ones who comes with friends, relatives and neighbours. Sadly the chances of getting in is independent of each other. Thus, one may get in and the other does not.

      The Grow-Up Immediately Lesson
These are the parents who likes to bring their child to the balloting session to find out what balloting is all about. Ballot for P1 places, ballot for HDB, soon ballot for COEs.

      The No-Holds Barred
These are the ones who will scream out happily when their child's name is called ... and as they scan the surroundings ... only blank faces.

      The Candy Crusher
This is the one who quickly scans the surroundings after each selected name is called. He looks for which group of three dad, mum, child who are smiling.

      The Facebook enthusiast
You get an update every minute on the going on in the school halls. After 30mins-1 hour, when you stop getting updates you know what has happened.

      The Unfortunate ones
These are the ones who are not so lucky and hence will be featured prominently in the local dailies the next day on the front page.

The Deterministor to Your Child's Future
Each school carries out a balloting prior to the actual balloting. This is to select the \"lucky\" teacher to fold each balloting slip four folds a hundred times over.

The Principal - Why the balloting process has not been removed yet? The principal walks around greeting parents but actually he/she is releasing his stress once a year by watching hundreds of parents being stressed out.

        Hi porcupine12 trade,

For me , the choice is obvious . FMSP. Better have back up for PSLE . I have a friend who transferred her girl out of Henry park to st Margaret when she was Pri 4 . Reason : her girl is not that bright . If remain in HP , her PSLE result will only allow her to go to a normal neighborhood mixed school .But with affiliation for st Margaret , she can at least go its secondary school.
Yes. My friend is right . Her girl got only 22x for PSLE but with affiliation , she is in St Margaret sec now. If her girl was still in HP , her PSLE result will not allow her to go ST Margaret which has a cut off of 240.

Lol, like it. Just a small correction that the 'lucky' person is usually the school's admin manager/admin work person. And now is toto style so no need to fold balloting slip anymore.

I oso heard one could still apply under 2A2 even if they did not gradute frm the particulat pri sch, is that true anybody? I think quite fair as such cases r v rare.

            \"PHASE 2A1:
For a child whose parent is a former student of the school and who has joined the alumni association as a member; or whose parent is a member of the School Advisory/Management Committee.\"

Which means to say, if the father/mother is a member of the School Advisory/Management Committee even if they did not graduate from that school, it is possible for their children to be enrolled in Phase 2A1.

            For Phase 2A(2)

            (a) For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the primary school of choice

            (b) For a child whose parent is a staff member of the primary school of choice

It just state that has studied in the primary school of choice, so does not need to graduate too. For example parent or sibling studied in school A but before PSLE switch to school B becos of transferring to GEP school after GEP test or shift house and transfer to school B. So the sibling or child will have 2 option of P2A2 to school A or school B. If registering for child, the child will have school A, B and C if taking into account both parents LOL

              ryes:

You can send an email to the health board with images of your child's certificate of immunization and they will do the update.
That's what I did when I notice a discrepancy in the online record vs the health booklet.
Thank you, ryes! Just sent the email πŸ™‚

Nan Chiau day 1, was 148. Day 2 become 147.
Maybe because that parent had decided to withdraw from phase 1, and enrol under either phase 2a or 2b, in coming weeks ahead.

Maris Stella added from 49 to 101! Yangzheng from 73 to 79 .

                    Strange ! :?
thought day 2 not much movement from day 1, phase 1.

Can it be because school admin staff have not finished enter phase 1 data into computer, only to continue with data entry on day 2 ? Can't be so many parents walk in on day 2 at Maria Stella, or yangzheng ?

Because thought all phase 1 applications had been done quite some months back, via the school admin who gave out forms to ask pupils, \"do you have any siblings coming in p1 next year ? \"

Wonder what's the difference between day 1 and 2 processing ...
