the obvious reason would be RGSS wants to maintain their standard as top sec sch....

RGPS will be the hottest pri sch if it has affiliation with RGSS.....

Ya lor. But strange that quite a handful of RGSS students are fr RGPS.
So RGPS stds oso very good. Some may say this is due to GEP classes. But in older days, no GEP classes but traditionally lots of RGPS students could get into RPSS, GEP or not.

i would say the family background of the students in RGPS play a huge part for the good results..... be it the parents teach themselves or spend top $ for top enrichment.....

Why is it strange? RGPS prepares its girls well for PSLE. Most of the top 2 mainstream classes do very well for PSLE and make it into the top secondary schools in Singapore.

Most other primary schools too hv top mainstream classes but still, I do see that many students got into RGSS . Sorry I do not hv any confirmed data , just my own observation. This is why I said RGPS stds are very good.. without being affiliated with RGSS & yet handful of the girls could get into this top sec school.

another one is the number of students get into the GEP from RGPS, there are only like 3-4 students from most schs but there are about 20+ from RGPS get into GEP every year which can form a GEP class, really amazing!!!

all pri schs hardware are almost equally good, all teachers are trained by NIE, all textbooks are almost the same in most schs, how can it be so coincidence that so many smart kids come to the same sch every year? how can the sch produce so many smart kids every year? is it fengshui? is it the P or enrichment or something else?

It is the ‘X’ factor of being in and standing in the shadow of the school’s tradition of excellence that motivates RGPS girls to go all out! Yes, there is a lot of pressure, but with the right support and attitude, your kids can face all challenges with confidence. This is something that MOE cannot understand when they simply say "all schools are good schools".

All fully government schs have no affiliation... government aided like scgs st margs, mgs are backed up by clans, churches etc,, so that makes a difference.

                Hi mummies,

Sorry to interrupt… Any mummy knows whether 2014 P1 is in am or pm session?
I called the school the lady told me they are not sure but should remain pm session.
                TIA!

2014 p1 is pm session, but how I wish is am session.

It makes a world of difference, between an and pm session.

2014 p1 name tag worn on school navy blue pinafore (uniform) will be white in color -
Ie. will Follow the same white color as this year’s graduating batch of p6 students, who will leave school after their Psle.
Was told that p1 orientation be held on 4 January 2014 -
Because the school want the older level girls to orientate themselves first, in the new school in January, before p1 come in.

Anyone done a trial run, ie. drive off at 6.30 pm peak hour at door step of 53 mount Sinai, see what time your p1 / p2 child reach home ?
Those who haven’t … maybe try out.

All these MOE CSOs should be shot! One of them misplaced my PV form at another sch.
