SJI 2012 numbers please see this link:

        http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=487&start=1590

In 2012, balloting was conducted for Singapore citizenship children, residing between 1km and 2km of the school at Phase 2C. 89 registered, 60 places

CHS this year OK leh... still left 52 seats means 26 for Phase 2B and 2C.
Thank you! Means my chances aren't good at all as I'm living outside of 2km...

Nagged by my wife for not joining the CHS's alumni since last week kiasu article. i guessed many went over to 2A1 this year. cold sweat!

from next year batch onwards (2008) :-
you'll notice a change in trend. Many from 2A2 will jump over, join 2A1 rank.

many parents from this year 2007 batch were caught by surprise!

Should be 2009 onwards(my dd will be affected) cos those that are 2A2 now for next year intake cannot join alumni as it require at least 1 year before registration.

If it helps, I vaguely rem birthrate was going up to 2008 before a decline in 2009.

It will mean 2008 registration will be a lagi even more competitive year than this year’s.

HPPS sets new record, surpassing CH's.

wahhh how come Henry Park suddenly become so hot? I know it's been a popular school, but never know it can be this hot.

I guess Zoe Tay must be very happy now...hahaha. Cuz she & her husband volunteered at Nanyang, but sadly couldn't get in, and ended up putting her son in Henry Park cuz her husband was an ex student.

and is the birth rate still low?? what is the govt doing!!

Errr, i thought i counted only18 schools being listed as having TUR of more than 75%, this is less than 10% of the total number of schools (190) available for P1 registration. This merely confirms that the locals have a strong preference for certain popular schools. I am not able to relate this to the birth rate issue and also cannot see what should the govt do? Should they \"open\" branches of popular schools just like franchising such as hpps (east), hpps (central) etc?

Why not? There is a ACSP and ACSJ. Successful brands should be replicated. At the rate condos are coming up in Holland Bukit Timah, there should be a HPJS.

Never underestimate the power of marketing and branding. Creative invented the digital music player, Nokia humanized mobile phones, but it is Apple and Samsung who are laughing to the bank. (Samsung learnt very fast) Why create school identities that no one wants?

When Old Man passes, perhaps there can be a LKYPS. It may even surpass HPPS in popularity.

Maybe it's a cycle kind of thing, that there will be a HOT school every year. Last yr was Rulang and this year is HPPS.

now that phase2A is over and was a close shave for one school… cannot imagine parents had to go thru the balloting process which will be taking place for many schs next week. PV, GRL n clan members in same phase n quite challenging tasks for parents cos some will be standing by at different schs (pved at both schs or pv/clan members at the same time)… All the best to you!!!
