Scenario:

Assuming the lesser vacanies a school has in phase 2C, the more popular the school is which is the case in Spore. \t
For example, if the schools in a neighbourhood has the following vacancies:- \t
School A with <10 vacancies \t
School B with <40 vacancies \t
School C with <80 vacancies \t
School D with 150 vacanies \t
\t
I suppose typical SC will try for School B, with some risk takers trying for School A, since SC have priority over PR. \t
So PR will not try School A and B since these will be the schools which SC are fighting for. \t
PR will likely go for School C, get a confirm place in an average school, why not, at least its not the worst. \t
\t
So after the blood shedding Phase 2C and I am balloted out from School A or B. Of course, I will want to join School C in phase 2C supp. \t
But sway sway, this time round, School C is totally taken up by PRs and there are nothing left after phase 2C. \t
I will only left with School D!!! 😢 :frustrated: :stompfeet:

I hope I am not worrying too much. But this is really what I fear most.

I m looking at plmgs under phase 2C. I m SC and within 1 km. I hope the trend follows the previous years whereby balloting only for 1-2km if there's any.

But I m worry abt the new condos that are flooding the area. Anyone knows whats the TOP for Bartley Residence? This development is the larger near PLMGS.

You should be worrying about The Minton.
That is also a hugh development opposite PLMGS.
Me worse, I am a SC 1-2KM away.
😢 Confirm need to ballot. Dunno what is my chance.

I just did a research on The Minton. Its TOP is 2013, so those who bought this property can actually enrol their DDs in PLMGS in 2010 for their kids who is in P1 in 2011. Cos the MOE guidleine indicate that as long as the TOP is within 2 years after the kids enrolled in P1, parents can use the address for registration.

I hope I did not interprete the guideline wrongly.

So, we have to assume to some degree the prior year application number has already taken this group of kids into consideration.

Do neighbourhood primary schools produce scholars? Well, tonight we meet Tan Le En, she's a Nanyang Scholar, and a Pasir Ris Primary School alumni. She tells us about her time in primary school. We will also have an A*STAR scholar speaking to us about her experience. Catch us at 9pm tonight on Ch 5.
I am under phase 2c applying for plmgs. Sc and within 1 km. Looking at the results really stress me up. What are the chances of balloting?

If you are SC and within 1km, should be no problem one. In 2011 & 2010, only 1-2km need ballot.

Hi,
Thanks for the link.
Any idea how many places are allocated to 2C last year?
This year's 2C should be 73.
Is that more than last year?
PLMGS has 72 vacancies for Phase 2C.
I think this year just slightly lesser compared to prior years.

Take a look at this chart for your info.

No wonder everyone wants to get into the school..hahaha..
But I think it's really good..give the poor kids a break

This is a very good practice! Parents should lobby principals to implement at their kids school . Of course , don't say it is from Ai Tong..
Principal of 'good' school also want face..

:rotflmao:

Pls do share more good practice of elite schools
