For those who did not manage to enter your dream school, don’t despair, continue to give your DS/DD your support in whichever school he/she enters. Your child will be able to excel in his/her own stride. Don’t let him/her feel that the school he/she entered is not as good as your dream choice. I’m sure with a parent like you, who is so concern about your child’s well-being, he/she will be able to perform well in whichever school he/she enters. Parents play an important role in shaping a child, a child will be a confident child only if YOU believe in him/her! You never know, your child may be the next PSLE top scorer in their school, even though they are not in your dream school. 加油！

I have been crying whole day yesterday until my eyes are swollen. :gloomy: Not idea why but the tears just keep dropping. Didn't know it will have such a great effect on me. Maybe cos its my daughter's bday today and I felt bad that I couldn't let her enter the school that she wants. Now I really have no idea where to register her in 2CS as my other choices are either filled up or only left with few places. :faint:

Hi, you need to show resilience as there is no point crying over split milk now. You have made that decision and you weigh the pros and cons carefully before making that decision to enter balloting stage. I suggest you consider a school with the most number of vacancies and apply without the need to go through another round of balloting again. You may display symptoms of mild depression if you keep thinking about why your child cannot be balloted successfully. Look on the bright side and cheer up.

This admin from CCK Primary really too much! Isn't wait list a standing policy? How can they just assume? You should file a complaint to MOE. Don't take crap from our education officers who are too lazy to do their jobs - their pay are funded by tax payers.

Please mind your words. Admin staff in schools are not classified as education officers. Teachers are the ones classified as education officers. And don't stereotype education officers as lazy. Most of them are upright, caring and dedicated officers. So what if their pay is funded by tax payers? They don't owe you a living.

There are parents here who might be education officers,i.e. teachers. Your words are offensive.

Glad that a parent called MOE to report this CCKP admin. Just like the ballot balls issue, the unlimited alumni priority issue, if something is not right, have the courage to speak up

Do check out the 2012 P1 Registration thread (now closed) to get a sense of how P2CS was played ou last year. For SC, if you disregard the distance, there is a wide range of P2CS schs to choose from. For mission schs, this year there’s CHIJ Kellock, Marymount Convent, Montford Jr. There are many former Chinese medium schs with history that could become the next SAP sch, if history is on their side in this millennium. Also see the indiv sch threads in parents networking forum to see which sch nurtures students for GEP that will allow your child to transfer to a GEP sch if he/she has the ability. I would probably want to avoid schs that do not encourage GEP. For convenience factor, schs near main roads, mrt, or served by a no. of buses… With on site or near after sch care, single session… Etc.

Hi…Need your advice on this…just found out 1 of my dd’s childcare mate he managed to ballot in my 1st choice sch in 2c. They are staying just next Blk to the cc and the Blk is actly >1km which was not qualified for 2c in that sch. I really don’t know how could he go for balloting ler…my dd’s another mate as well(diff mate) when i met the mother before 2B, I asked her choice of sch she said the famous sch all cannot consider cos of their distance also same as mine.and the day after 2B, I met her with the ds again I asked, she said she has not decided but suddenly the ds said confirm going that sch too, not sure the kid just joking or serious. Now I wonder, were they using rental add? Cos I still seeing them staying here le. How shall I find out more abt this as I am very imbalance ler…Cos the failure in 2b made me very upset as I think it was so unfair…Sorry if you think I am selfish…

Phase 2C is open for all SC/PR children who had not registered in the earlier phases. If u did not get balloted in in phase 2B, u can still try registering again in phase 2C in the same sch which I believe u did not? They are qualified as they are SC/PR children.

How did you check your distance? Only onemap.sg is reliable. The school admin will use that to check those who claim to be within 1km before they ballot. It is not very possible for them to claim to be within 1km if the address isn't.

If you don't say which school this is, it is hard for us to counter-check the statistics. If you lose sleep over this, the next best thing would be to ask the school why certain pple you know managed to ballot at Phase 2C when they lived outside 1km. They will certainly check it out for you if you know the name of the kid and their address. It is not selfish, coz if it were true, then they should be punished for cheating the system. If they are within 1km (due to other reasons), then you can just apologise and get back your sleep.
