Hi,
May i kw wat is LP? my sons are currently in ICR but suddenly the schools just change to My English school. Thinking of withdrawing them out and source new school for them. Pls advise. TIA
Any decision so far? LP is quite far from my house. I am condidering LC
Tentatively stay put in old location (changed to My English School now) for last term. Next year will decide again if want to continue or go for other option like LP - Read For Success (if N2 is acceptable) or go back to ICR. I might wasting my last term with nothing. Well, no pain no gain? :frustrated: -
Hi,
Anybody can advise whether LP is suitable for preschoolers? How’s the teaching structure like as it seems more academic & will they be using holistic approach?
Any comments on Lorna Whiston English Enrichment classes for preschoolers? Seems not much reviews on it? Can anybody share? -

I am really into dilemma now..
After comparing between LP & TAS for K2/P1 level. Below were my observed found:
Compo - TAS is really good at this area. From the technique application to method of remembering. It is helpful for a starter.
Comprehension OE - TAS has better layout and easier for young child to digest. LP at this level don't really emphasis it yet.
Basic grammar - LP really drill the child in this area. Being gone through the trial at TAS, the teacher commented my child has really strong foundation. He was able to complete the worksheet all by himself with zero mistake. All thanks to LP.
Cloze - LP has enough practises in this area. Worksheets are more challenging.
Fees - LP's term fee is $80 more than TAS. I didn't compare how many lessons though. LP is 1.5 hour vs TAS 2 hours.
Class size - same at max. 12.
Overall, LP's worksheets are generally more challenging. Their placement test is necessary to make sure the child is able to cope in the class.
Hi, May I know how LP drills your kid in grammar? Do they introduce to them on a weekly basis, Articles to Nouns to Pronouns to Verbs to Preposition to Punctuation, etc.? Or is Grammar taught with other stuffs like Cloze Passage, Compre, Compo, etc. in any session?
As for Creative Writing, how is the K2 kid taught in this area? My impression is that creative writing is only for P3 & above kids. Didn't know K2 kids are expected to be competent in employing impressive vocab and phrases in compo too...
And having said that, may I know if P1 kids these days are expected to write compo?
Thanks! -

with the latest new changes made to English format announced by MOE, starting wef pioneering first batch of pupils, sitting for PSLE 2015 (ie. kids born in / after 2003 onwards ) -
the requirements for English standard, had been raised !
it is quite demanding now.
P1 pupils are now expected to write composition (or Creative writing) -
based on picture(s) given.
some primary schools start earlier, in P1 Term 3.
Most start later, in P1 Term 4.
when reach P2 Term 1 -
the length of essay increases, (meaning: need to write more / longer paragraph(s), with an increase in the number of words written, expected.
parents are thus advised, to inquire from your school's English language HOD -
the test format expected, for P1 / P2 Paper 1 - Creative Writing format expectation(s).
