      sesame246:

Thanks. Berries Orchard is what I hv arranged for a trial class on 1st lesson next year. Both the time slot and location are good for us.

I am also considering Jiang - 3 hrs \"Shuang Yu\" class where chinese is taught by the principal and English by her daugher. But they do not offer trial class, so hv to pay in advance sch fees of abt $1000 for 20 lessons. The disadv is the big class size.
You are most welcome. If you are looking for English AND Chinese, there is one more option you can consider.....next to Berris Orchard is Creative Horizons - a school which specialize in English with teachers who are all NIE trained. Some kids from Berris Orchard are also taking lessons at Creative Horizon. They will finish 1 lesson from one school and move on to the next lesson at the other school.

        hi usaik,

My daughter went for her trial lesson last week at Berries Orchard, she likes it and we hv enrolled her.

I hv called up Creative horizon, and understand that the teachers are locals. Unfortunately they do not offer trial classes. Their fees are similar to BC, MA, ICR etc…

Does everyone has any experience with Creative Horizon? My girl is in P6 this year.

        Tks

          Hi

Is anyone here whose kids’ classes are affected by the new policy that there will be no make up class if their lesson falls on a government public holiday?

They used to arrange replacement classes but not anymore.
Doesn’t this mean that I am getting lesser lessons than what I have paid for?

Julia Gabriel does not offer makeup classes should the normal class falls on a gazetted public holiday too.

yes, in a sense you are right that we are getting less classes than we paid for when that happens.

For this yr, Berries tries to arrange make up for 3 out of the 5 Hols on Fri. So still miss 2. What to do? I’m actually thinking of asking Berries if they are willing to have lesson on Fri for the Lunar New Yr wk, since Fri is already quite far from the 1st 3 days of CNY. May be if more parents request, Berries may consider???

heard Shichida worst, no make up lesson on PH, somemore they got term break also, same as primary school. so if lesson fall on term break (which every children will gana as term break is usually more than a wk) e.g, in Mar, and Sept there will be no lesson at all.

For June and Dec, they self declare term break for a wk each, so also no lesson.

this year’s CNY starts on Sunday. Sat is the eve - are we supposed to have classes if the class we attend is on Sat?

But do you pay for a fixed number of lessons each term? or by the month?
For Berries it's 12 lessons per term.

I'm not sure about this, it's better to check with the center. I only know that there is no class during CNY week.
