Thanks for the info.

Before they implement this, they considered Info comm, sports etc as CCA, now they called it IDP. I thought it is just a matter of what they name them, it's still CCA to me after all, students still need to spend time on it anyway.

I don’t think RV very good leh. (Case in point–I got an RV friend who only took 3H2s, and not to mention blogger Xiaxue was from RV).

My mum didn’t let me choose RV, she rather I go NH, back in 2005.
Reason being, she thinks the IP system in RV is just starting, and I’ll be like the "guinea pigs".
It’s true though that compared to HCI, RIJC, and DHS, RV is not as good an IP school as those.

Hi serafiel, in life, there is always a starting point, the process & ending point. If no one is willing to get started, there would have no process & result. When new concept schools like SOTA, NUSH, SST just started, many adventurous parents and kids are willing to take up the new challenge to persue their passion. No system in this world is the perfect system and it is the dare to try, dare to accept new challenges & changes that make all of us a better person.


Your mum has her own point when asking you to choose NH. I am sure at that moment, you all have discussed through the pros and cons to come out with such decision. Once the decision was made, you put in all your best to excel in your study.

For parents and kids who choose RV, its the same. I am sure they have weighted the pros and cons too before coming to this decision. I know many RVians (including my dd) are able to choose those \"good\" IP sec you mentioned but they did not. The most important thing now is for them to put all their best, work hard to achieve good results, enjoy the school life and be a better person.

For IDP, can they quit and change to anoter IDP as and when they like ? Or they have to be committed to IDP too ?

Not much information provided at this moment. They will know their CCA posting tomorrow and start 1st session on Friday. I guess we'll only know more after they have started and also depends on which CCA and IDP being posted.

My dd is lucky to get into her first choice. Heard that many are not posted to their choices. One of her friend is posted to cross country, which is not even in the selection list. Some are posted to IDP as their core CCA.

Does your child get what they wish for ?

Sorry, I mean they are posted to sports (supposingly to be classified under IDP) like table tennis or basketball or even wu shu and were told that is their core CCA already. No performing arts or UG for them. I'm not sure will they be in the school team as I understand some of them don't even have prior background. :?

I was also so confused by the whole process and got to ask dd and her friends repeatly in the car just now before I understand better. :stupid:
