I feel that as long as there is school nearby, there is traffic issues. So its still not confirmed that TNS will go single session next year. We probably will know by the number of enrollment they will accept this year when P1 registration is due.junemum72:
Is it confirmed that they will be going single session next year?
It is MOE's vision to have single session for all schools. However it is rumored that the school principal is applying to MOE to request the delay of the implementation of single session. His primary excuse is potential traffic problems. I personally hope that he would not succeed. Logistics for the afternoon session is a nightmare to me. Perhaps all the affected parents might gather to voice their preferences and concerns.
I cannot imagine the jam when they move back to MP and in single session as they have more students compare to nearby schools. -

Have you checked if they have a school bus plying your area? From the school bus information available on the school website, none of the buses goes to SengKang... I may be wrong.Cystal:
Hi Mummies,
didnt get a respond earlier and just wondering if anyone can help advise. I'm staying at Seng Kang and keen to put my daughter back to Tao Nan (my alumni). Anyone staying at Seng Kang too? Do you know the route from SK to Marine Parade and how long it would take?
But the journey from Sengkang to Marine Parade is really long. thankfully, the school is going single session next year... No worries that she will reach home at 8pm at least.
You are right. There are no bus vendors Gg to SK. But I think on of them have actually detoured from pasir ris to serve the SK kids.
However, going into single session next year, the bus won't be able to fit anymore so they likely won't be taking in new students. Or might even just cancel their service to SK.

Cystal:
Is there another school in Sengkang which you can try? Cos travelling an hour to and from Sengkang to Marine Parade may be very tiring for the young kid. IMHO.

Oh My Gosh:
Yup a few schools I have shortlisted too in SK. But still hoping TNS could be an option if I can drive her to / from school daily maybe...

Cystal, i let go of tao nan too last year and i’m glad i did so and stay put in SK as covenience really helps… getting up early in the morning and just walk 5-8 minutes to reach school than to rush and drive 40 minutes in jam to send them… the kid is tired, we are tired too.

Yes…esp at MP, The traffic jam around the school in the morning starts from 7am onwards. The queue to the drop off and the u-turns is really long.

Cystal:
If really no direct bus from Tao Nan (Marine Parade) primary to Sengkang -
Yup a few schools I have shortlisted too in SK. But still hoping TNS could be an option if I can drive her to / from school daily maybe...
- perhaps see whether Tao Nan school bus can drop off child halfway, then either you or spouse or parents / maid everyday (come rain or shine) able to be there, fetch child home, everyday.
This method is called the \"half way workaround alternative solution\".
Otherwise, no choice, but to give up Tao Nan Phase 2A status, register child into a school in Sengkang, instead.
Last resort is drive child to Tao nan daily to & fro both ways, for next 6 years from P1 to P6, until can find a transfer to another school -
Hi YMCA student care is always on waiting list. Anyone who has placed their child in other student cares?
