Imho, there is no good or bad agency, it all depend on the maids that we got, and its like buying lottery.

More importantly is the salesperson we deal with.

The maid agency i use has low transfer rates, but the owner is quite open about the reasons of why the maids are being transferred. and they don’t keep nonsense maids which is good. now they are opening another branch in tanah merah, Service is good, not pushy

I browsed through the pages and I looked at how people judge an agency based on statistics on the MOM website as well as other sources instead of their personal experience over at the agency makes me wanna laugh hard.

Thanks for the sharing. Very helpful. Agree that qualitative things matter more. But quantitatively MOM data are the only numbers we can use. Is it fair to say agencies with good numbers are not necessarily good, but bad numbers are definitely should be avoided?

I personally feel that we need to go for a reliable maid agency and not just choose based on the lowest agency fees.


I use Nation@Jurong and I have a good consultant Suzanne. She is honest and is able to advice me how to choose my maid. The training at Nation is also tough and comprehensive. Thankfully I have nil maid issues so far.

Besides luck and good maid agency, its also important that the agency has the right maid bios for you. Don’t compromise your requirements just cos the agency does not have the bio you want. Move to another agency.

Before I get my maid, I went to 10 different agencies to collect the maid bio-data.

Does the employer pay for the renewal of passport or the maid has to pay?

I don’t think there is a rule that says employer has to pay for the maid’s passport renewal. So it is up to the employer.

Anybody having Filippino maid and has experienced renewing the passport via e-booking at the embassy website?

Very headache as the first appointment available as of today is 10th Jul and my maid wants to go back end May! The process time for the passport takes another 8 weeks which means she can only go home earliest in Sept!
I would like to do the renewal myself without going through the agent but seems not easy.
Still prefer old system of queueing at the embassy!
Anybody can teach me how to go about it?
