2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take

Check this out

Looks like some schools are going to ballot in phase 2A2 and 2B this year.
Especially Henry Park Primary. Only 62 places left after 2A1!!
The trend is the older schools all have generally high intake (more alumni and old students).
I don't think its going to be any different next year, despite the low birth rate for 2010. Esp if we fail to include new citizens who will boost up numbers.
I think a lot more parents will try for popular schools if they think chances of getting in are better next year.
Lets all hope for the best, and keep our fingers crossed.

Hi
Does anyone know if we end up in balloting situation in phase 2CS, and get balloted out, will Singaporean get priority in choose remaining school, before MOE opens up all vacancies to foreigners?
Thank you in advance. -
BabyRR:
Yes. In Phase 2C Sup. But I think no more balloting as you will have to choose any school that still has vacancy.Hi

Foreigners will be able to register only in Phase 3.
According to MOE, if a child is balloted out in P2Cs, when entering Phase 3, children will be admitted in the following order:
a. Children who are Singapore Citizens (SC).
b. Children who are Singapore Permanent Residents (PR).
c. Children who are not Singapore Citizens (SC) or Singapore Permanent Residents (PR).
For categories (a) and (b), allocation will be conducted according to the order of priority based on the home-school distance category.
In Phase 3, since vacancies are limited, MOE posting is final, they will not entertain any appeals on the posting results. Therefore, a good strategy in 2c will help you to avoid balloting in 2Cs. -
Plus the recent cooling measures with SC needing to stay in their current place for 30 months (2.5 years), P2C applicants will drop further. Hope that this is a good each of info.

Hi reporting in here for next year's P1 registration
Living in Bukit Merah area and I am keeping my eyes mainly on Gan Eng Seng Primary and Zhangde. Radin Mas would be good but I think no chance since we are more than 1km from the school. Not sure about Alexandra Primary yet since I have heard quite good things about the school in terms of new facilities and performance of students during open house, but it is a little far from us being just over 2km away. -

Living in Bukit Timah area and I am keeping my eyes mainly on Gan Eng Seng Primary and Zhangde. Radin Mas would be good but I think no chance since we are more than 1km from the school. is gan eng seng and zhangde within 1km from you? :scratchhead: -
Hi dkiasu, both Gan Eng Seng and Zhangde (and Radin Mas) are 1-2km from me. I am not hoping for Radin Mas mainly because it seems to be the most popular school in Bukit Merah area and donβt think we will stand a good chance.
