my daughter is born in year 2010, and going for P1 registration next year. I start to feel panicky cos I m now too late to do PV.
I would like to join SHHK hoping to get into Chong Fu Primary 2B phase balloting 2016.

It's too late to join now. My friend joined last year and even after he clocked many hours, he couldn't get any endorsement for Phase 2B this year.

Hi galaxyraider, any idea how many hours did your friend clock for SHHK?[/quote]SHHK takes the age of membership into consideration when allocating their Phase 2B recommendation letters. I joined SHHK at a very early stage, i.e. when my wife was expecting with my eldest child.

I was fortunate enough to be granted the phase 2B recommendation (I was notified just last week) despite the few volunteer hours that was contributed to SHHK. (I was unable to do much volunteer work with SHHK as I was based overseas).

So, I guess, if you did not join SHHK early, the chances of the Phase 2B recommendation is going to be very slim, even if numerous hours were devoted into SHHK's service.

SHHK takes the age of membership into consideration when allocating their Phase 2B recommendation letters. I joined SHHK at a very early stage, i.e. when my wife was expecting with my eldest child.

I think the age of membership matters more than the number of hours you clocked. I think my friend clocked more than 40 hours, equivalent of doing PV... :scared:

I guess we might be coming to the trend where you need to join SHHK the moment your kid is born or even in the stomach... might come to a day right after you get married .... :rotflmao:

Heard last year they only gave out recommendation letter for members more than 4 years. Is coming close, at 6 years old is when your kid register, maybe for the coming Dragons babies .... :scared:

on shhk recommendation, i think it depends on which school you aiming for. If the numbers asking for letters to say, Ai Tong is very high; then the tenure of membership + PV hours etc would be correspondingly high. If the numbers for letters to ABC is very low, then the bar is set very much lower.


Earlier on in the year, SHHK members would need to submit their application for Phase 2B recommendations, and indicate the school they are applying to. Also cannot do last minute.

I am not surprised by SHHK stand.

One couldn't possibly have discovered that he/she is a Hokkien only 2 years prior to the child's enrollment in primary school. What were they before - a Hakka?

Age of membership and the activities u have helped out as volunteer in ~ ..
